I've been living in Georgia for the past 8 years and haven't even gone to World of Coca Cola until yesterday.
My family and I had a great time learning about Coke and how it all came about. Only bummer is I didn't get to know what the secret formula is. LOL!
Did you know that Coca Cola history began in Atlanta back in 1886 by a Atlanta pharmacist John S. Pemberton? I didn't know this at all. Lauren knew Coca Cola was created here in Atlanta, she is such a smart girl!
The reason for our visit is that World of Coca Cola Atlanta has attractions that has several new features like a new mobile app, Pop Culture exhibit and “Moments of Happiness” film and my family and I were among the few to get to experience them.
I must say, "Moments of Happiness" film brought so much joy in my heart! Just seeing all those wonderful family moments was great. But I won't tell you too much because you need to see for yourself.
The Pop Culture exhibit is new that my family and I got to see of Howard Finster: Visions of Coca-Cola, a new exhibit in the Pop Culture gallery highlighting the works of American folk artist Howard Finster from Georgia.
I got to try out the new mobile app as well that does great things while you're inside the attraction like:
- Discover fascinating facts about Coca-Cola®
- Create custom photos of yourself and your friends with fun frames and cool effects
- Keep a journal of your favorite flavors from around the world in the Taste It! beverage lounge
- Connect instantly on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Follow the World of Coca-Cola guide map as you go
- Get general information about the attraction
You can't go to Coca Cola without drinking 60+ different sodas from around the world! I haven't drunk soda in years, but for this occasion I did. Some sodas were good and some were nasty! Lets just say, beware of the soda called "BEVERLY" in the Europe fountain!
The girls, Mr. M, and I enjoyed the 4-D movie where we got to go around the world. Our seats moved, we got wet, wind was blowing, it was such a thrilling experience!
We all had a blast at World of Coca Cola, and I'm so happy they invited us to spend the day with them. Also it was great to meet more of my local blogging buddies!
OMG, Louida! That top picture of the three of you with the polar bear is the absolute cutest!!
ReplyDeleteWhile I did know the story behind Coca-Cola, I did not know that it all took place in the ATL! (Thanks for the history share! lol)
I've added the World of Coca Cola to our things-to-do-in Atlanta itinerary! We're hoping to perhaps make it out to see my grandfather there if not this fall, then next Spring when K is a little older...
Great post, Louida!
xo
Thanks so much Courtney! Coca-Cola is definitely a thing-to-do in Atlanta whenever you come and visit. I just can't believe I haven't gone to the attraction until yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI went to the coco cola museum years ago - and I STILL talk about the room with all the free drinks! Although I remember some of them made me gag!!
ReplyDeleteYes they had some sodas that could make you gag and the Beverly one is the all time worst! How in the world did the people in Europe drink that stuff?
DeleteI don;t drink Coca-Cola or any other sodas but I love history, and marketing. I would definitely go!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a soda drinker either but it is a great learning experience.
DeleteWhat a great outing, you and the ladies look like you had a blast - the memories you are making are priceless!
ReplyDeleteYep Antionette! My girls has been having the time of their life going to all these events!
DeleteI have always wanted to go there. My husband did a couple of weeks in Atlanta years ago when he was in the reserves and took a tour and he thought it was the best thing!
ReplyDeleteRobin you definitely need to add it to your bucket list of places to go.
DeleteThat looks like a fun and interesting place to visit. They have a place at Disney World that has Coca Cola's from different countries and they are 'interesting' to say the least! I do remember when they made the BIG mistake of changing the recipe of Coca Cola.. THAT WAS BIG!
ReplyDeleteI remember those drink stations at Disney World too. I think I may had a cup or two while there but since I don't drink soda I really didn't try them.
DeleteOh yeah, I remember the recipe change of Coca Cola and people were upset by it.
I had no idea Coca Cola was the works of a Pharmacist!! Great memories http://www.parentinghealthy.com/
ReplyDeleteI would've never known this too Erinn!
DeleteAtlanta remains one of my favorite cities! I'm originally from GA and I lived in Atlanta for a few years. I've always enjoyed taking the kids to the World of Coca Cola!
ReplyDeleteI know your kids had a ball at World of Coca Cola! My daughters drank their little hearts out! LOL!
DeleteWow! I know you and the girls had a great time! I have always wanted to tour Coca Cola. That will be on my list next time I'm in ATL.
ReplyDeleteYes girl you'll need to go, it's fun!
DeleteI was really impressed with the World of Coke. They really put a lot of effort into the user experience. I would recommend this time and again.
ReplyDeletePS. The "Beverly" Flavor...OMG...ewww
Yes...OMG that Beverly drink is beyond disgusting! How in the world did the people in Europe drink that nasty stuff?
DeleteWhat luck little ladies.
ReplyDeleteThey sure were lucky to get VIP treatment!
DeleteMy first visit was yesterday, too! I seriously love the photo of you and your children on the cola couch. You guys look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Candy! I wish I would've arrived sooner so I could had met up with you.
DeleteLooks like you all had a lot of fun! I hope to visit there soon;)
ReplyDeleteYes you'll need to visit, you'll love it!
DeleteLooks like a fun place to go! Although I am trying not to drink too much soda this place would definitely be on my list to go to for the family if we are ever in that area! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink soda either but for that day I did.
DeleteI didn't even know about the world of Coca Cola, until now! It looks fun. Next time I'm in the area, I need to visit :)
ReplyDeleteYes you'll need to stop there and visit Dawn!
DeleteI had no idea there was a world like this.. i could see myself going there and drinking everything just for a quick taste.
ReplyDeleteI went there last year and I had the best time! I tasted some lousy stuff in that tasting room though. I had to drink up the regular Coke products on my way out to make up for it. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Liz! I bet you had that Beverly drink!
DeleteSo fun! I love that place. And I admit, I'm a Coke Zero addict.
ReplyDeleteNow I see why you love World of Coke! LOL!
DeleteI'd love to try some of their yummy drinks. :)
