Time for a fiesta, your neighborhood Kroger is having a Taste of México celebration at their stores! The special event started on June 1st and ends June 24th.
At the beginning of June, I got into a campaign with BzzAgent to check out the Taste of México celebration at my neighborhood Kroger. My job was to stop by my local Kroger store several times for 3 weeks to check out the live demos of foods, try out samples, enjoy the festive music, and use my free coupons to purchase some marinated seasoned meats by Kroger.
Kroger has been really promoting this fiesta for the past 3 weeks. I would hear the mariachi bands several times a day on the radio with a lady telling the listeners to stop by Kroger to attend this special event. I would also see the commercials a lot too. It was a bit of an overkill!
Here is what I received in my BzzAgent Kit to get me started:
- A FREE bottle of Cajeta Coronado
- A citrus squeezer for limes
- A FREE coupon for Kroger Mexican Marinated Meats (16–24 oz, any variety)
- A FREE coupon for Kroger Fully Cooked Mexican Entrées (16 oz, any variety)
- $1.50-off coupons to share with other shoppers — I received a few for Kroger’s Mexican Marinated Meats AND Fully Cooked Mexican Entrées
I packed up my girls and we headed off to Kroger to check out the event. Once inside the store, we seen Taste of México balloons and set up displays everywhere throughout the store. Several locations in the store had different Mexican foods for purchase. For instance, when I was in the produce section, there was a location that had tomatoes, avocados, onions, and limes together to help you have the ingredients to make guacamole. Other stations had chips and dip, Mexican sodas and beers, and so on. Kroger associates were walking around with their Taste of México aprons on.
The girls and I went to Kroger several times to see the live demonstrations and each time we went we would miss it. We even went on the weekends and never got to see them. That was a disappointment. They must have them during the day and I have a very busy schedule so I often go to Kroger late in the evenings.
My Review
1. Kroger Mexican Marinated Meats offer a convenient way to spice up family dinners with minimal effort. No need to prep the meats — just toss these Mexican-inspired favorites on the grill, pull out the tortillas and your favorite toppings and you’re ready to go! Savor traditional Mexican specialties including Pollo Asado and Beef Barbacoa, or try their new Fajita-Seasoned Pork, Chicken and Beef.

2. Kroger Fully Cooked Mexican Entrées, including Pork Carnitas, Beef Barbacoa and Chicken Tinga, make it easy to enjoy a street taco experience at home, work or on the go. The tender shredded meat is ready to serve, just heat it up and pile it on warm tortillas with your favorite fixings for tasty tacos with authentic Mexican flavor.
3. Cajeta Coronado is a Mexican specialty: a thick, dark, caramel topping made from goat’s milk. Cajeta Quemada pairs well with practically any dessert, fruit or pastry.
4. Lime Squeezer- Lime is the new salt: squeeze it directly over meats, fish and veggies to quickly season your food and heighten flavors. Plus, it’s a healthier alternative to table salt.

Is Taste of México at Kroger Worth a Try?
Overall, this was a great event that Kroger did. Too bad I missed out on the live demos and samplings. I love Mexican foods so maybe there was a reason for me to miss out on free food- I probably would eat it all! LOL!
