Chai Tea & Milk Recipe via www.productreviewmom.com

Warming up with a delicious hot drink is one of the joys of the fall season (I even enjoy sipping on chai tea all year long). This Chai Tea & Milk recipe cost a fraction of what you would pay at your local coffee shop. Not only that, you can adjust the spices to your liking. The natural spices and ingredients allows you to taste the many layers of flavor in this spiced tea. Check out the recipe below and let me know if you enjoy making your own homemade drinks!

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 whole green cardamom pods
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 inch piece ginger root
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 black peppercorns
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 cups of milk*

*If you are vegan, you are welcome to use your favorite dairy substitute*

Directions:

In a large saucepan, add all the listed ingredients (except for the milk) and bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes. Add milk in slowly and let simmer for 2 minutes more. Remove saucepan from heat and use a strainer to strain the liquid into 3 individual coffee cups.
