Hey Yall! You all know that I have already decorated for the holidays due to my busy holiday schedule. But actually, I didn't get to finish because upstairs hasn't been done yet.

When I lived in apartments my holiday decorating was limited since I didn't have space for it. Just a Christmas tree and my fireplace mantle displayed decorations. I told myself once I move into a house I'm going all out. My house is going to be a mini winter wonderland!

I moved into a house this January, and it'll be our first Christmas in our new home.

My family and I spend most of our time upstairs in the loft watching tv, playing video games, and hanging out looking at our adorable fishes in their tank.

I would love to have the holiday spirit flowing upstairs but don't want to spend an arm and a leg decorating as I did downstairs.

So what is a great place that has inexpensive prices on at-home items for Christmas decorating? Goodwill of North Georgia! Visiting Goodwill is like going on a scavenger hunt adventure. There are so many hidden treasures to find in Goodwill, and I'm guaranteed to find stuff for my home to decorate at affordable prices.

During my lunch break, I went to Goodwill to see what I can find. I noticed it wasn't a lot of choices left for Christmas in the seasonal aisle, but I found stuff that I was looking for which was counter toppers. I have a counter upstairs that I put family vacation photos on, and I wanted to have that decorated nicely.

I came out of Goodwill with a bunch of holiday goodies, and only paid $10.64! YES! I should've gone to Goodwill when I first went shopping for holiday decor; they are so budget-friendly! Check out what I got below.

I'm still going for a berry theme like I did downstairs. I got another Nutcracker since the one downstairs is for Michelle, and this one will be for Lauren. The Nutcracker will be surrounded by a sleigh filled with sugar berries that will give great glitz and sparkle to my loft. Also, you can't decorate the counter without a mini Christmas tree! Christmas tree laced with red jewels and rope, with a chic plaited skirt.

I dressed up my candle to add more holiday style to it with a circular branch candle holder with pine cones and berries.

Now my upstairs is looking so merry and bright thanks to Goodwill of North Georgia!

Goodwill is more than just low price deals on everyday items; they also have a mission of putting people to work in North Georgia. And they've been doing this for the past 90 years! Right now, they're celebrating their 90th birthday. Amazing!

I'm happy to see that my donations to Goodwill help people find jobs. Find a donation locations near you so you can help Goodwill with their mission.

  1. Hi Lou...you did really good with those decorative choices. I donate ever year to Goodwill. They are my favorite charity to give to as they take everything. It's on my radar to give before the end of the year.
As for decorating, I've gotten lazy this year and haven't done a thing. As my son gets older it seems less of a priority so we'll have to enjoy mom's decorations in Alabama this year!

    1. Thanks Janet! I'll be doing some major minimizing at my house and donating stuff I no longer use or need.

Once I became a teen, Christmas decorating wasn't that important to me anymore. I got to cherish these moments decorating with my girls now because they are almost teens.

  2. You can find such fun stuff at Goodwill sometimes. We got a lovely framed picture hanging in our living room that we randomly found at GW while entertaining my MIL who loves to check out GW stores. Great idea to look for decorations there.
