I was provided this book to give a review and provide a honest opinion. |
Hey Yall! How has your week been so far? Anything exciting? My week has been a peaceful one, just been catching up on needed rest since I been working a lot, attending events, and you know, the usual parenting stuff. I'm soooo looking forward to spring break; I'm even thinking about taking that week off from blogging, but we shall see.
The girls and I finished reading a beautiful book about thankfulness and having a positive outlook on life. The book is called, "Thank You God", by Chayla Cooper, and it helps children to be thankful in any given situation.
For instance, the little girl in the book tried to help her mother prepare breakfast but accidentally burnt the toast. The little girl thought her mother would be mad at her, but she wasn't and instead said, "Thank you God we have food to burn."
This book reminds me of the hard times my family and I were going through during the time we began living in Georgia. Both Mr. M and I didn't have a job with two young babies, money was running dry in the bank, however, we thank God everyday for continuing to provide for us, keeping a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes on our backs. Within of month of us both not having jobs, God blessed me with that phone call from my old boss telling me I got the job!
God got us through a lot, and we always kept our faith in him, and we're thankful for his blessings. He showed us to be grateful for what we have and not worry about what we don't have, and we teach this to our daughters as well.
Illustrations are by Rebecca Sustaita, with colorful African American characters that children, as well as adults, will love.
This inspiring book is short and sweet, and help children learn patience and thankfulness towards God. You can purchase the book on Amazon.
Yesssss agreed. I love the title and what better way to teach our children about thankfulness. God is able to get us through any situation. Being grateful pleases him.Lou you are a wonderful Mother.
