With Spring in full effect, it's the perfect time to change up things a bit! You've already packed away your winter clothes and getting everything clean and in order, so a living room revamp will be fun and therapeutic. Usually, we cringe when someone says anything about renovations, but there are some inexpensive ways to change up your decor without breaking the bank. Check out these tips and let me know how you plan to freshen up your space!
Paint:
You'd be surprised at how a fresh coat of paint can completely
transform a space. Stay away from dark colors and opt for airy and
inviting hues that will make you and your guest feel at ease. My
favorites are light blues, greens and even lavender!
Throw Pillows:
Throw pillows are another low cost item that really make a difference
in your living room. You can pick them up anywhere from JCPenney to
Target and they are available at a variety of different price points.
You can save even more money if you're handy with a sewing machine and
buy your own fabric.
Plants: Indoor
plants purify the air and help you to create your own personal oasis.
Some great choices would be aloe, bamboo palm or an English Ivy.
Accessories:
Who says that you have to spend a ton on accessories? Find your way to
an upscale second hand store and check out all the accessories they have
for cheap. Even if mirrors or vases are gently used, a can of spray on
paint can make them look good as new.
One thing
I've learned about refreshing a space is that you usually have some
great items around your own house that can be repurposed. Before you run
to the store, take stock of what you already have, so you don't
needlessly spend money. Happy Sprucing!
