Necklace from New York and Company |
Hey Yall! Thank you so much for the love on social media yesterday about my new haircut! I'm glad you all really like it. It was time to change up my hairstyle a bit because I was getting tired of doing the same ol' twist outs all the time. I've been cutting my hair myself all these years but wanted a professional to add a new style to my locks.
Back in April, I went to a Mother's Day event with the girls and their grandmother to check out the vendors that were there. One of the vendors was the JCPenney Salon, and they told me they had a stylist that does textured hair and would love for me to stop by.
Now, it has been over 5 years since I let anyone do my hair, and those salons I went to were a nightmare. The gossip, being at the salons for hours, what a waste! Plus, my scalp always suffered from chemical burns from the relaxers, ugh! That's one of the reasons why I stopped going, the other reason it got too expensive to keep getting my hair done.
Last week, I was at the mall doing the usual, window shopping and passed up JCPenney Salon. I was thinking, "You know what, it's time to pamper myself and give myself a new look." I've been rocking a twist out for years, and I would love to have my hair in a layered bob again like I use to wear it during my relaxer days.
I walked into the salon, had a consultation with Caslida, who was voted 2015 America's Best Artisan. Just by talking to her I knew she would be wonderful at doing my hair, so I booked my appointment immediately after our discussion.
When I went to get my hair done, I was amazed how well Caslida did my hair, from a curly afro to silky smooth straight hair. My ends were terrible, my cutting skills at home haven't been very good, I need to leave it up to the professionals.
Caslida trimmed my ends and gave me a layered bob in the back and kept my sides and front long, just the way I want it because I'm still going to wear my hair in a twist out, especially during the summer.
My hair turned out fantastic! Makes me feel like a new woman! My hairstyle makes me look younger too; that's always a good thing.
Hopefully, my hair will hold up because humidity just doesn't want to be my hair's friend, it likes to have it looking a hot mess. OY!
If you're looking for a hair stylist, I recommend seeing Casilda at Mall of Georgia JCPenney Salon, 770-831-0252. She also does hair in New York every 3 weeks. Tell her I sent you!
I love your new hairstyle!

Love your hair. It looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteWhat! You go girl. Jcpenny use to do my hair when I was in Charleton and they did a great job. The lady who did my hair moved so we had to go to someone else.
ReplyDeleteLove it Lou!!! I'm trying to figure out how I want to do my next color.
ReplyDeleteI love your new hairstyle. She did a wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteI also dislike going to the salon. I haven't been to one in 12 years. Luckily, my used to be a cosmetologist so she does my hair when I need it done. But it's even been about two years since she last cut my hair.
Love the new cut!!

ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S what I'm talkin' about - Sweet and "sassy" - You look as phenomenal as your website. Enjoy the new you, along with continued $ucce$$ and God's blessings.
ReplyDeleteSeparately, I have a website with wordpress.org / hosted by bluehost. http://amixedbagpro.net.......There is no privacy policy and this is holding me back since the policy is required in order to do and promo business; hence, I was considering starting a new site at Studiopress for my product reviews. Your input much appreciated! Thanks a bunch!:)) Lori B
