Hey Yall!  This past weekend, the girls got their hair done at the JCPenney Salon.  They want to be just like their momma!  Hehe!

My girls have been begging me to wear their hair straight, so I caved in and let my hair stylist give them a silk press.  They're growing up fast, and looks are starting to mean a lot to them.  Their hair must be cute but without all the pigtails, clothes must look fresh and more grown up.

I want them to embrace their God-given natural curls, but I let them wear their hair straight at times.  I just don't want to take the risk of damaging their gorgeous locks.

Since my hair stylist is good at what she does, I trust that she'll protect my girls' hair from heat damage.  So far, when she does my hair in straight styles, my hair has reverted to its natural texture when I wash it.  My hair has been so healthy and luscious since having her taking care of it, and I know my girls' hair will be in good hands too.

The reason why the three of us wasn't getting our hair done in salons until recently was that the expense of it was too expensive.   But now with the girls not going to daycare I have a lot of savings to do luxury things.

Watching my girls get their hair done reminds me of my younger years when my mom use to take me to the hair salons.  I always felt like a beautiful princess with all the cool hairstyles my beautician would create.  I would get my hair done every 2 to 3 weeks, and that would give my mom a break from doing my hair.

But, I wish my mom didn't let the beautician talk her into putting a relaxer in my hair.  That chemical over time thinned my hair out.  As long as my daughters are living under my roof, no chemicals are touching their hair.

My hair stylist did a fantastic job on my girls' hair!  Looks so healthy and thick! My girls couldn't keep their hands out of it; they kept swinging and doing hair flips.  They knew they were looking fancy!  Ha!

Since their hair is natural and not use to heat, the humidity instantly started making their hair frizzy.  Darn!  Their school pictures are this week, so I'll flat iron it again when that day comes.

  1. Lou, I love the girls hairdos. With this heat it's so hard to keep straight hair. I'm so frustrated with mine right about now. Oh well Summer will be over soon and we won't have to worry about this Atlanta humidity.
