Tuesday night in Atlanta felt a lot like Tinseltown with two of the hottest forthcoming movie screenings for ATL's tastemakers and celebs.
At Regal Station, V103's Ryan Cameron and his foundation brought the young ones out, including The New Edition Story’s Myles Truitt and Tyler Marcel Williams, for an evening of family fun to watch THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE.
Across town at the AMC Phipps Plaza, Kandi Burress brought the grown n’ sexy out to indulge in all things dark n’ sensual for FIFTY SHADES DARKER.
Celebrities including Kenya Moore and Shamea Mortan of Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Rasheeda Frost of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta were all in attendance.
My family attended the more family-friendly film, The Lego Batman Movie. It was a stormy night, bumper to bumper traffic, making us delayed to the event. However, we made it just in time to get good seats and order some snacks.
Before I got the invite to preview this movie I asked the girls if they were interested in seeing this latest Lego Movie. Y'all should've seen the ugly look they gave me as if I shouldn't even have asked them that question. They told me that they're not into Super Heroes, so they didn't want to see the movie.
Once the invite appeared in my email box, I told the girls we're going, and we're going to make it a family movie night, so Mr. M is tagging along as well.
Seeing the previews of this film I just knew it was going to be hilarious.
When the movie first started, immediately we're hit with jokes. Jokes after jokes, after jokes. It was just too much to the point it became not funny anymore, just trying too hard. Mr. M and I kept looking at each other like, "Is it over yet?" On the other hand, my girls loved every minute of it. I give this movie a 6 out of 10 rating.
If you're into a bunch of silliness, you'll enjoy The Lego Batman Movie.
My boys are looking forward to seeing this movie. I am thinking we will go see that on Saturday because I actually am looking forward to seeing 50 Shades hopefully tonight if there are still tickets left once I can decide on a time lol. But thanks for the heads up about the jokes. I'm sure the boys will find it hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThe trailers for this movie have been crackin' me up! My kids are older but we'll probably see this on video.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the trailers, but I doubt we will go see it. My husband may go see it since he is a huge batman fan (even the cartoons). However, me and the kids never watch super hero movies and cartoons. But that may change when they get older.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to go see this one. It looks so funny.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all enjoyed this movie...To be honest I dont like such films,But this seems a hilarious movie which anyone can enjoy...
ReplyDeleteGlad you and the whole family enjoyed a great premier movie night! #ProductReviewParty
ReplyDeleteIt's funny the girls changed their minds once they were watching! lol
