Keeping Families Together at Atlanta's Ronald McDonald House Charities
Hey Yall! Did you peep out my Instagram and see all pictures from the event I attended last night?
Looked like fun right?
It was!
Remember I attended Atlanta's Ronald McDonald House Charities recently? This time the girls and I visited the other Ronald McDonald House near Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
This house is much bigger than the one next to Scottish Rite; RMHC on Gatewood Road has 50-bedrooms with a separate wing for transplant patients.
Check out these facts about RMHC:
1. More than 48,000 families have called Ronald McDonald House Home.
2. They have been keeping families close for 38 years and counting.
3. They served families from 143 counties in Georgia, 24 states in the U.S., and two foreign countries since 2016.
4. 1 Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program established.
5. 2,208 families served by Atlanta Houses, 14,893 volunteers shared their time and talents, 47,376 hours volunteers spent caring for others, 1,021 meals prepared to nourish families, and 76 scholarships awarded to students since 2016.
Such an awesome organization dedicated to nurturing the health and well-being of children and families!
The girls and I took a tour of the facility checking out the play rooms, work rooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, and of course the bedrooms. There are also suites for larger families as well.
The place feels so warm, homey, and inviting. Honestly, I would love to stay there myself.
We got to meet families that were staying at the RMHC, and it made my heart melt with joy to see all the families and children happily playing together despite what they all been going through. RMHC helps ease families worries, helping them enjoy precious moments together.
The Atlanta Hawks Flight Team, cheerleaders, and Emory students gathered up all the kids for a fun evening of games and activities.
The time was a slam dunk for all! Get it! Slam dunk, Atlanta Hawks! (I know, corny!) 😁
Please visit your nearest Ronald McDonald House and volunteer your time and talents by helping to care for others. Or, you can make donations like food, clothing, or money. Anything you can do can make a huge different in a family's life.
Before you go, check out the story about Little Liam and his family who is home-away-from-home at RMHC post surgery. He's doing well after receiving a life-saving liver.
God bless the Ronald McDonald House. They really do such great work for families. Looks like you all had fun.
