We meet again Mazda! It's like I can't get enough of you! We're like a match made in heaven! LOL!
It's always a joyful experience taking these Mazda vehicles on my trips, creating a great driving experience no matter what adventures my family and me do.
Los Angeles has the worst traffic ever, bumper to bumper that seems to lock up no matter what time of the day is, but this 2017 Mazda CX-9 Signature All Wheel Drive had me cool, calm, collected in the lap of luxury unbothered by it.
Exterior Color: Machine Gray Metallic
Interior Color: Auburn
A car so big I can strength out and still have plenty of leg room.
Although it's just the four of us, the 2017 Mazda CX-9 is a seven-passenger SUV, meaning; it has 3rd-row seating for a big family or if you have some friends tagging along for the ride.
Now, you probably think you saw this car before on my blog, and you're right, I drove the 2016 CX-9 to Memphis last year.
Nothing much has changed with the 2017 model, basically the same honestly. It is monstrous of a vehicle that's super cool to drive and be seen in.
Luxurious show-stopping sleek leather that will make you feel like a Hollywood star. Park this baby on Hollywood Blvd, and I bet all eyes would be on you, with people seeing who is stepping out of this extravagant SUV.
The metallic trimming gives the perfect toughness look, very masculine.
Mr. M didn't get a chance to be in 2016 model, but he was all googly eyed with the 2017 model. Super impressed with how smooth the Mazda CX-9 drove, efficient handling, backup camera helped him park at ease, and navigation system is much easier to use now. I always complain about Mazda's navigation system not being user-friendly, but now we can work our way through it with no problems adding our travel destinations. Also, navigation screen graphics is brighter in color, bolder.
And another thing about the navigation system, it helps find short cuts to avoid traffic delays. Awesome!
Now, there are some things we didn't care too much for.
This SUV is bulky in the front making it hard to see over the hood when driving. It was nerve-wracking trying to make sure not to hit a car beside us when parking in a tight parking stall.
Another thing, fuel economy is not very good with a 5 out of 10 rating (23 MPG combined city/hwy, 20 city and 26 highway). We took the Mazda CX-9 from LA to San Diego which is a two-hour drive south and only filled up once, so it wasn't too bad.
By the way, the drive on Interstate 5 down the coastline from Los Angeles to San Diego is the most beautiful road trip you'll ever have. See the sun setting on the ocean, stunning million dollar homes on the hills, several different beaches and beach towns definitely will have you California Dreaming.
The weather was cool with a light breeze, blue skies, sun shining; we opened up the sunroof during our travels to let the sun shine in. Oh, how I miss California weather!
When it got too warm, each of us, including the girls in the back set our air conditioner to the settings of our choice, making us comfortable to our personal preference.
For an immaculate vehicle like this with all the bells and whistle, the price is $45,655. Pricey, but you do get a lot of features.
It was so hard to say goodbye to 2017 Mazda CX-9, we had so much fun taking it around Los Angeles and San Diego to the hottest locations. I bet the 2018 model will be even grander!
We'll be seeing each other again soon Mazda! Until then, we bid you adieu.
Disclosure: I was provided this vehicle free to do a review, all opinions are our own.
I LOVE the CX-9. It's on my short list of cars we're considering for our next vehicle! It's roomy, especially with three boys (who have long legs and still growing). Glad you guys enjoyed it too, especially in SoCal (jealous!!)
