Roaming Around: The 2017 Subaru Impreza

Hey Yall!  So, for the past week, I've been driving in and out of town in the All-New Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive 2017 Subaru Impreza.  I've was testing the sedan out and getting a feel for this particular vehicle.

I'll be totally honest with you all, I never been a fan of Subaru's.  I thought of them as nothing more than wagons and I don't like crossover style cars.  Also, I felt like Subaru's were more suited for people that enjoy off-road driving, the ones that are adventurous and outdoorsy.

You know what?  My thoughts were all wrong!  Subaru's are more than just their Outbacks which is one of the most popular in their car lineup; the brand has SUVs, sedans, and sports cars as well.

When the Subaru Impreza arrived at my front door, my mouth dropped!  I didn't expect it to be sleek, and stylish.  I couldn't even tell it was a Subaru until I took a look at the front exterior.  Subaru stayed true to their front-end grill design, but still, the car has a masculine, fresh, sporty look, a total enhancement!

The wow factor didn't stop there; the interior was just as eye-popping too!

The black soft to the touch seating makes the drive comfortable, especially when I had long drives outside of the city.

The all-new STARLINK Multimedia system had us all ooh and ahhing, looking at how massive the screen is.  Michelle asked me if I could play movies on it since it's so big (screen is 8 inch).  The answer is no; however, I can connect my favorite apps like Pandora, media, audiobooks, navigation, Bluetooth, and so much more!

And that's not the only screen there is!  The 2017 Subaru Impreza has an LCD Multi-Function Display that is 6.3-inch with high-resolution, full-color, multi-function display that helps keep you informed with outside temperature, climate control, fuel economy, and vehicle systems functions.  This is the first time seeing a 2nd screen like this.

I'm very impressed with all the space this car provides, enough leg room for my whole family, and enough cargo room in the trunk.  This car will make you rethink needing an SUV for extra space that's for sure.

And the gas mileage, the best, up to 38 mpg!  Incredible!  I can spend more time on the road instead of at a gas station.

The safety features are out of this world too!  Using radar sensors, the Blind-Spot Detection system warns you with a visual indicator in each side mirror if it senses a vehicle in your blind spots. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert helps warn you of traffic approaching from the side as you are backing up, using an audible warning and flashing visual indicator in your side mirrors and Rear-Vision Camera display.

And with the Reverse Automatic Braking, the Impreza can detect objects behind you and automatically stop the vehicle for you.  This car is all kinds of smart.

The lane departure signal lets you know when you're drifting to the next lane, and it'll help nudge you back over.

One day when I was dropping my girls off to school in the car rider lane, I was giving them kisses and telling them goodbye when I heard a signal go off in the car.  Looking around, I saw the dash screen alerting me that the car ahead of me has moved forward letting me know I need to go as well.  I'm telling you, this car is too smart for its good.

The Subaru Impreza has so many other features; I can just go on and on about it!  You'll need to visit their website to learn more.

So you're wondering a car like this must be expensive.

If you thought this, you are wrong!

The Subaru starting price is $18,395, and if you want all the upgrades, the cost is $28,760.  You get a lot of bang for your buck!

This smooth ride was hard to give up; I hated parting ways from it.  Like what someone told me on Instagram, "Once you drive Subaru, you never go back!"  That person is right!  And now I see why a lot of new as well as older Subaru's are on the road today.  And, from what I heard their cars last long too.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the 2017 Subaru Impreza.  This Sedan works perfectly as a commuter, small family vehicle, car for teens, people who love sports cars, and solo drivers.

With such a low price tag, I can see myself buying this car for my girls.  In a few years, they'll be teen drivers!  YIKES!!!  I need a reliable car, that is safe to drive, cool looking for them that won't break my pocketbook.

Make sure to check out other vehicles I have reviewed.

What are your thoughts about the 2017 Subaru Impreza?  Do you see yourself buying this car?

  1. Very nice! I'd really like to review vehicles but they don't have a hub in my city. Too bad, I could have used this when I was shopping for a new car.
