We started our hot, muggy, rainy season in Savannah, took a trip up north to Great Wolf Lodge, kept it local by going tubing on the Chattahoochee river, visited a Gamer's festival, and chilled out pool side and rode rides at Six Flags. Oh yeah, we spent a lot of time at the pool near our home getting several shades darker. We had a memorable break!
Also, Michelle started gymnastics at the beginning of break and will continue it throughout the fall months, maybe even winter.
Lauren, she did a few weeks of gymnastics too, but it wasn't for her, so she opted to sit out and watch her sister work her magic on the mats and beams.
To get Lauren prepared for her first school year in middle school, I placed her in a tutoring center to get some help with her math. Math has always been my trouble subject in school, and it's her's as well, and with math being taught at a fast pace in middle school I don't want Lauren to fall behind.
Our back to school shopping is almost all the way done, just need to do a few things here and there. Like the girls have hair appointments at JCPenney hair salon this week to get their hair braided, and Michelle has me on a wild goose hunt to find the first day of school dress and shoes to go with it.
I'm noticing as my girls get older, their choice of clothes is changing drastically. Michelle is getting into athletic wear, and Lauren likes clothes in gray and black shades. They both had me hopping to different stores finding the perfect outfits for their current styles, but mainly we did our clothes shopping at JCPenney and Justice. Lauren, she had me buying a few of her outfits at Hot Topic for anime attire. She told me she is getting tired of all the cutesy pink stuff for girls her age; it's boring, lame, and looks like everyone else.
I understand where Lauren is coming from; she doesn't want to look like everyone else, I get it. However, I don't want her looking like a goth, dark and depressing either. I hope she'll grow out of that dark stage phase.
And I wanted to thank Kita from It's Really Kita for capturing some of our Back to School shopping! She always snaps us in our most real moments, no staging or telling us how to pose. What you see is us, this is how the girls and I are in real life.
Well, I do have to bribe Lauren to take pictures with us because she is over it when it comes to having her pictures taken. That's why you don't see much of her on this blog anymore. I had to buy her that expensive Zelda book in return for her to be in pictures.
I'm not going to force her anymore; I understand she is getting older and going through the awkward stages of her life and doesn't want that displayed.
As I was mentioning to Mr. M, soon the girls may be faded out completely from my blog. If they don't want to be on it, they don't have to. But Michelle loves being in front of the camera, so you'll see more of her until she's over it as well.
If you're ever in need of lifestyle, headshots, stock photos, social media, and blog images, I highly recommend Kita! She is such a natural capturing authentic, beautiful shots. She is based in Atlanta but will travel as well.
You are lucky that your kids are going back to school soon. It's just been a long Summer. I only have 1 kid, but she is like 5 kids in 1. lol. She goes back to school on August 30th.

🤣 School will be back in session for her before you know it!
DeleteI know right girl! My kids are growing up fast!
ReplyDeleteWhen my girls were younger, I didn't have them on my older blog at all because I wanted them to give me permission. When they started wanting to be included in my blog I discussed it with Mr. M as well to see how he felt about it.
My blog will shift more about me and my likes, with the girls chiming in occasionally. But of course with their permission first.
