Hey Yall! We have survived the first week of being back to school. We've adjusted to changing up our schedules to going to bed early and rising in the mornings early. The girls are enjoying being in separate schools, and I'm enjoying me-time at home, catching up on work and emails.
Last week, while class was in session for the girls, I snuck away from home for a bit to attend an event that was an hour away for a little R&R and learn about Bradenton Gulf Islands, Florida and the new Legoland Retreat Resort that recently opened.
The luxurious relaxation event was held at Bluegrass Nail and Day Spa giving invited Georgia mom bloggers VIP treatment of Mani/Pedi's, mimosas, and catering. What a way to treat us like royalty!
Representatives for both Bradenton Gulf Islands and Legoland shared with us their family-friendly tourist attractions for families seeking, fun, adventure, and to unplug and relax.
Florida is one of my favorite go-to places to take my family for a getaway vacation, that's why you see my blog chalk full of my Florida trips. But, never have I traveled to Bradenton Gulf Islands, I never even heard of it until this event.
Bradenton Gulf Islands are about a 90-minute plane ride non-stop from Atlanta. They are one of the top family destinations in the country offering superb family-friendly beaches, dining, shopping, and outdoor adventures. I can't believe I haven't visited Bradenton yet, looks like that will soon change.
Known as quaint beach towns with charming cottages along the shoreline, no high rises in sight, people enjoying the fresh salty air while riding their bikes in the city streets, Bradenton Gulf Islands is a laid-back place to unwind. So no ruckus, over crowded beaches, or obnoxious spring breakers.
And for families with little ones, just a short trip away Legoland has a new beach getaway, Legoland Beach Retreat. So, people can have a beach vacation complete with the adventure of an amusement park.
Legoland Florida still has their hotel at their theme park, but Legoland Beach Retreat is an option that is closer to the nearest West Coast Florida beaches, and budget friendly. Legoland Beach Retreat has cottages too made of Lego with theme rooms inside. Browse their website to take a look.
I enjoyed the day of pampering, socializing with some of my blog buddies, and learning about new places to explore in Florida.
Too bad my girls couldn't tag along with me. The girls were also upset to know that Legoland had a Master Builder there teaching kids how to build Lego sets without the need of instructions but instead using their imaginations using Legos that were available. My girls are huge Lego fans.
Oh yeah, I only opted to get my finger nails done since I already had my toes painted recently. What do you think about my nail color? I'm unsure what the color is, I chose it because of the shimmer of it and wanted my nails to stand out.
What a nice way to spend the day, I wish they had events like these in Delaware.
