Hey Yall! The end of last week was jammed packed with us doing exciting things, like celebrating LEGO NINJAGO DAYS at LEGOLAND DISCOVERY CENTER, going on a spooky ghost tour in Lawrenceville, GA, and ended our merry time with a mini trip back to the Great Smoky Mountains for Harvest Festival at Dollywood.
The awesome people of Dollywood invited my family and me to have a fun day creating precious memories at their amusement park previewing several different attractions and foods they have going on this fall.
The invite came at the perfect time because on the same day of the event at Dollywood (10/7), last year my family and I were having a dark moment with Mr. M fighting for his life in the hospital after his near-fatal car accident. I'm grateful he is alive and well today, and we were able to share special moments with him as a family at Dollywood.
Dollywood was full of guest checking out the beautifully decorated park filled with the autumn-inspired decor. Viewing all the thousands of pumpkins that invaded the park lighting up the night showcasing all the amazing carvings talented master carvers did. Master carvers were onsite showing off their carving skills for all the guest to see.
Media families were served tasty fall treats samples that Dollywood has during the festival for guest to purchase.
Everything I tried was scrumptious and set me in the warm and fuzzy mood of autumn. Now, if only the weather were a bit cooler that day, it would've set the tone of me eating ooey-gooey apple-cinnamon goodness just right.
Not only was the Harvest Festival going on, but Dollywood also had a Southern Gospel Jubilee, America's Largest Southern Gospel Event that features over 500 free concerts that are all included with Dollywood admission. I hate the fact that I missed this big event while there, I love attending gospel concerts, they are so uplifting, making me feel like a brand new person.
Our trip to Dollywood was our 2nd visit, and Mr. M's first. Mr. M shared with me how much of a caring person Dolly Parton is to create an entertaining place for families located where she grew up. She is a prime example of not forgetting where she came from and created jobs for her people.
If you're in Atlanta, take a 3-1/2 to 4-hour road trip up north to the mountains to view the stunning foliage, and do family-friendly activities at Dollywood, an experience you'll never forget!
Dollywood's Harvest Festival is from Sept. 29th- Oct. 28th, so don't miss out on this incredible event.
Disclosure: We were provided free media tickets to experience Dollywood's Harvest Festival, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
Hi Lou, great pics and looks like a fun getaway. Can you believe Thanksgiving will be here soon? The decorations at Dollywood are so beautiful and sounds like you guys had an awesome visit.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun. We've never been to Dollywood or Tennessee. I'll have to add it to our list.
ReplyDeleteHollywood looks like it was a lot of fun. Dolly Parton is a celebrity that always seems nice and sincere whenever you see her on tv. I would love to go to Dollywood one day.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a fan of Dolly Parton because she seems smart and kind and real. Looks like there was a ton of fun, and that food looked so yummy! One thing about Georgia that I've enjoyed is that there is always so much to see and do. Thanks for making us feel as if we were right there! Hugs...RO
