Hey Yall! Welcome to another edition of Spring Cleaning my kitchen cabinets! With spring here, I'm working on getting rid of stuff that is cluttering up my house, but first, I want to make sure I don't give away products that I may end up liking and need.
With me being a review blogger, I receive a ton of items to check out and potentially discuss here on my blog. Some things make the cut, some don't, or some get overlooked. I'll be presenting about products that have been neglected and need to be featured.
Today, I've been sitting on these products for a couple of weeks now. So, it hasn't been long since I've had these beauty care goodies in my possession.
Recently, Influenster sent me a survey to fill out to see if I qualify for their next VoxBox. I filled it out, and to my surprise, I did meet the requirements to receive this box.
Honestly, I don't even know why they still even give me boxes of beauty products to try out; I never get a chance to review them, which is part of their requirement of getting free stuff from them. Their boxes are the main ones collecting dust in my cabinets!
Welp, Influenster should be giving me a pat on the back for finally following the rules this time! LOL!
Anyway, my box is called the Dazzle VoxBox; it's full-size skincare product, with a couple of hair products. Check out what I got below:
GOLD BOND Ultimate Radiance Renewal
GOLD BOND Ultimate Radiance Renewal cream-oil combines the ultimate triple-blend of Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, and African Shea Butter to deliver nourishing, extended hydration. This new formula also contains gentle exfoliants to help remove dead, dry skin cells that cause the skin to look flaky or ashy.
My Thoughts: This product is AMAZING! I love this creamy lotion! It's thick, glides on smoothly, leaving my skin soft, hydrated the whole day. It's right about their 24-hour moisturization statement. No need for reapplying, so the lotion will last me a long time, which means saving me some money. I do like to mention that if used too much of it, the cream will be greasy on the skin, making you look extra shiny, and the product will start transferring to anything you touch. Oh yeah, the smell is lightly scented with all three, coconut, cocoa butter, and shea butter. This cream is now on my top skincare list.
Clairol Professional iThrive Keratin Rescue Split End Repair
iThrive Keratin Rescue Split End Repair is a lightweight finishing creme formulated with Panthenol. It leaves dry, damaged hair smooth and frizz-free, all the way to the ends.
Directions: Dispense 1-2 pumps into palm, rub hands together and apply to damp hair beginning at the ends, working upwards to mid-shaft and avoiding roots. Twist hair strands for more defined curls. Do not rinse. Can be used to refresh or moisturize ends as needed.
My Thoughts: The light smell reminds me of a floral scent, just right for spring. Basically, this split end repair is a leave-in conditioner. Nothing new, nothing special. But, it has my curls looking refreshed, just like any other cremes I've used before. I'm unsure how it'll be for split ends since my hair is not suffering end damage, I've been scissor happy lately and been cutting my ends. That's probably why my hair is always short. I need to step away from the shears. LOL!
Clairol Professional Jazzing Semi-Permanent & Temporary Hair Color
Jazzing's shiny-sheer shades spice up natural, colored, permed, and relaxed hair with temporary (without heat) or semi-permanent (with heat) results. The ammonia and peroxide-free colors give you the freedom to change things up whenever you like.
My Thoughts: I'll be all the way real with you, I didn't try this product at all because I never colored my hair before. I'm quite nervous coloring my hair after suffering hair loss after relaxing my hair myself many years ago. Yes, I know this product doesn't have the harsh chemicals, but still, I'm worried it'll make my curly hair straight, like heat damage. I even turned down a huge sponsored opportunity just last week to be on video doing an at-home hair color treatment for a brand. But when I feel some way, no money will change my mind. With this Clairol Professional Jazzing Semi-Permanent & Temporary Hair Color, I may give it a try in the future when I discuss it with my hairstylist. She currently has me on a healthy hair journey right now.
I consider this Dazzle VoxBox a good one, two out of the three products I'll regularly be using and adding to my current hair and skincare routines.
Disclosure: I was provided these products free for review purposes, all opinions are my own.
I haven't received a vox box in almost 2 years. It seems like you have to do so much work just to qualify and the samples have really gone down hill. But maybe that's just me.
ReplyDeleteHey girl! Long time, no see! I agree with you, you do have to do a lot of work for no pay and the majority of their samples sucks. But they have been getting better though. Honestly, I haven't been fulfilling their requirements and still getting boxes, I don't know why.
DeleteHi Lou,
ReplyDeleteI certainly understand your hair concerns. We definitely want to keep our hair healthy and shining. I may have to try out this new GOLD BOND Cream. The three ingredients are all excellent for keeping the skin hydrated - coconut oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. Love the combinations!
I wore the Gold Bond cream today in the freezing cold and my skin didn't get ashy at all. This lotion is the truth!
DeleteI love my Dazzle box too! I think the Jazzing will be fine since it's really just a temporary rinse that washes out unless you apply heat. I didn't use heat with mine because I like my current color. It really can only be seen when you are outside or under the light - like a tint. But definitely take it to your next appt.
ReplyDeleteI like how the color turned out for your hair. Yes, I'll take it in and ask my stylist what she thinks.
DeleteYour curls are springy, but like you said, nothing new and other products probably do better and give you shine too! You've actually had other products that made your curls shiny, springy and frizz free. With my curls, this girl needs frizz free! lol
ReplyDeleteThe color might make a good temp color for root touch ups or in between colors, but like you I'm picky about hair color, not sure I would try it either! lol
Gold Bond has some great products, their itch cream is the best for those damn mosquito bites!
😘
Thanks girl! I'm a hair care product junkie, and I've had better products than this one. Not saying that this one isn't good, just that I had better.
DeleteI may give hair color a try since it washes out. Wish me luck!
Gold Bond does create good products. Can't go wrong using them.
Girl, I am sitting on this box too. In fact, just yesterday I gave my mom the lotion to test out for me. I did try to conditioner and hair dye though. As expected the color didn't stick for the most part. I have to get my pics and stuff up to show the before and afters.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your pictures!!
