What a great way to celebrate this beautiful nation's birthday by road tripping up north to Nashville, TN in 2018 Chevrolet Traverse FWD RS 2.0T! This All-American Car Brand was such a joy to drive, had me almost in tears giving it back.
If you remembered a couple of weeks ago, I had a brief encounter with the Traverse during my monthly auto group meeting in June. I fell in love with the Traverse at first sight, also while driving it around the block. The way the SUV moves is so smooth and sultry, it makes you want to hit the road, destination unknown, but just sit back and enjoy the full experience of the vehicle.
And the look of this SUV, incredible! Sleek, sporty, sharp! The exterior of the Cajun Red and black
rims makes this vehicle a head-turner. This mid-size seven-passenger SUV is what you want to sit in traffic in. It makes you go, "Wow, that's a Traverse?" I love the clean, sharp lines of the exterior and the soft, high-quality premium black leather inside making it look like an expensive vehicle, competing with luxury brands. Hey, the Traverse may have all those other luxury brands beat with all the impressive features inside. You get a lot of bang for your buck! I'll get to the price in a moment.
There are so many things I loved about the Traverse, that I can go on for days! Here are my 10 Favorite Things I Loved about the 2018 Chevy Traverse:
1. First of all, the Traverse has an in-vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot! Amazing! So, if I'm on a road trip and my passengers lose service or need to connect to the internet, I can turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot so that they can stay connected with their devices. Up to seven devices, laptops, tablets, etc. can connect to Wi-Fi.
2. I'm all about safety when choosing vehicles I drive, and the Traverse exceeded my expectation. From Onstar services, like Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Roadside Assistance, easy Turn-by-Turn Navigation, and Stolen Vehicle Assistance has me at ease while driving around with my family.
3. Surround Vision is also another safety feature that I like a lot. I must admit, I'm a horrible parker in big vehicles and need assistance with parking straight. With the surround vision camera, I can see the front, and the back of the car to help me park correctly.
4. This is a big one, and honestly should be first on my list, the Hands-Free feature. I spoke about this in my last post since now Georgia started the law that we cannot be on our phones while driving, or get a ticket. By a push of the button, I can turn on the Hands-Free feature and speak to the car telling it who I want to call, talking to the person through the speakers.
5. Several USB ports on every row of this three-row, mid-size SUV. There is even a couple of standard plugs in the second row. Chevy kept today's consumers in mind making sure everyone stay connected.
6. Before you know it, both of my daughters will start driving. (I'm not looking forward to that day, LOL) Traverse has Teen Driver Technology that turns on all the advanced safety features like Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert and Forward Automatic Braking. Also, the car creates a report card about the teen's driving performance, so it'll help you identify where improvements need to be made.
7. The In-Vehicle Apps makes you think you have a computer in your dashboard. The Traverse is equipped with apps such as The Weather Channel, USA Today, People Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Audiobooks, even Pandora! I told you, Chevy put today's consumers in mind with their vehicles.
8. So much space for everyone in the car! Everyone has enough legroom, and space for storage. Although my family is not growing, my girls' friends are, so I have enough space to tow around their friends when they come over to hang out. The two seats in the middle of the SUV gives my girls space between them, making them feel they are in their own lounge chairs. The back manual fold third-row seat can be laid flat for more storage space, but we didn't need to since the trunk fit two suitcases just fine.
9. Even the gas milage impressed me. Going to Nashville from Atlanta, I still had a quarter tank of gas left once I arrived at my destination. (Fuel Economy 22 MPG, 20 city, and 26 Highway) With a vehicle of this size, that's pretty darn good!
10. As I like to call it, the Mini Garage located behind the navigation screen. By the push of the button, the screen goes up revealing a hidden compartment for more added space. I like to hide my business cards, and cell phone inside. Plus, there is a USB port inside the chamber too! Smart!
Now, the price.
Standard Vehicle Price is $42,050.00, with the added feature options Total Vehicle Price is $43,440.00. I asked Mr. M what he thought a vehicle like this would cost; his answer was in the high $50K. So, as I mentioned, you get a lot of bang for your buck with this Chevy vehicle.
Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and OnStar Thank America’s First Responders with Special Pricing Plan
Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and OnStar announced the launch of a new program designed to recognize the bravery, dedication, and resolve of America’s first responders.
“Millions of men and women serve their neighbors as police officers, firefighters, emergency medical service professionals and 911 dispatchers,” said Steve Hill, GM vice president of U.S. Sales, Service and Marketing. “Not long after the hurricanes of 2017, we started thinking about ways to recognize first responders in a really meaningful way. The team came back and said first responders deserve the same new vehicle discount we offer members of the military because every single person in uniform helps protect us.”
Paid and volunteer police, firefighters, EMTs/paramedics and 911 dispatchers now qualify for a special discount below the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) on new vehicles at participating dealers. The discount is compatible with most other available offers.
According to The American Security Council Foundation, there are an estimated 800,000 police officers in the U.S., as well as 1.13 million firefighters and 891,000 emergency medical service professionals.
First responders can also receive an offer of 15 percent off OnStar Safety & Security and select Connected Services plans. For 21 years, OnStar has worked closely with its network of first responders every day to help save lives. In 2017, OnStar responded to nearly 46,000 Automatic Crash Response notifications in the U.S. in partnership with first responders.
Program details are available at www.gmfirstresponderdiscount.com and www.onstar.com/heroes.

DeleteI've never owned a Chevy, but I am a fan of the GM brands. I think they give you more features for your money. The Chevy Traverse definitely looks like a great option of anyone who is looking for a a three-row suv.
ReplyDeleteI never been in a car with Wifi like this one, and in today's world, features like this is needed. I love the fact that Chevy keeps consumers connected, and creating vehicles people need and can afford.
DeleteLoving this! I think the navigation and the hidden compartment is so fun. I can leave my camera in the car without having to take it in all the time and I know it's safe.
ReplyDeleteYep, I love that hidden compartment too! Very smart of Chevy to create that.

ReplyDeleteWe should have went joy ridin in it! HAHA!!! You could have helped us see more of the city.
DeleteGirl, was it 102 degrees outside?!(lol) Thank goodness you guys were in that sporty ride that I just adore. I love the fact that they actually have regular plugs in the car, and wi-fi hot spot availability. The little mini garage is pretty cool too. I'm thrilled that you got to use it for a trip, and know you hated to give it back. That's not a bad price for all that comfort. Hugs and Happy Friday! RO
ReplyDeleteYes girl, it was burning up hot out there! What was also good about the Traverse is that it cools down the car within seconds.
