Every day I would hear Mr. M highly praising the powerful Ford Expedition, wishing the vehicle was ours to keep. Never in the history of all the cars I have reviewed have Mr. M glorified a car so much, and when he gives high praises, he means it!
This vehicle will have you feeling like high society as if you made it big in life.
When I hopped in and out of the car, all eyes were on me wondering how such a small woman can handle such a massive vehicle, or even afford it. Guys "Ooo and ahh" when I would drive past, pointing, wishing this car was theirs. This is like a dream car, a dream I didn't want to wake up from.
2018 Ford Expedition is everything and then some, it has everything you can think of giving today's consumers the convenient features they need for an enjoyable, luxurious driving experience.
At first glance, you notice how majestic the Ford Expedition is. It's stylish, sleek, sporty, matching the lifestyle of a variety of auto consumers.
It may be massive in size, but don't let it fool you, the V6 engine packs a power punch with turbo speed driving performance. No slow takeoffs, and excellent handling. When you drive this vehicle, you don't feel like you're driving a bulky SUV, but instead a robust sedan.
There are so much I loved about the 2018 Ford Expedition, here are my Top 14 Reasons You Need 2018 Ford Expedition for Your Family:
1. According to Cars.com, 2018 Ford Expedition is the #1 Best Full-Size SUV in 2018 and rightfully so, as I mentioned this SUV offers everything a family needs, being spacious to superior design, making it a high-quality vehicle.
2. Although this SUV is enormous, I was worried that it wouldn't be good on gas. With gas prices on the rise, I need a car that will be easy on my gas budget. Again, 2018 Ford Expedition surprised me of not having to spend most of my time at a gas station (19 MPG, 17 City, 22 Highway). I had the car for over a week, made two mini road trips (both trips were over an hour, day trip to Helen Georgia, and evening out at Six Flags Over Georgia) also in-town driving, and only got gas once. What helped conserve gas was whenever the car is idling it shuts off; however, it immediately starts back up when you hit the gas peddle. Less time at gas stations, more time on the roads.
3. All the spacious leg room and compartments are needed for my family because we tend to pack our whole house when we go places, LOL! It's easy to store all our belongings out of eye site and sit comfortably with enough space for everyone. The girls loved the two lounge-like chairs in the 2nd row, and when Lauren wanted some quiet time to herself, she sat in the roomy third-row seating.
4. Umm, hello WiFi! I can't live life without it! My family and I need to stay connected to our devices for work purposes and entertainment, so having a WiFi hotspot in the car is critical. No more dropped calls, and my daughters can stream their movies on their phones without interruptions.
5. Having TVs that includes headphones is a must needed feature to have when we go on our road trips. The girls can watch their movies instead of harassing me with, "Are we there yet?" And I and Mr. M can listen to our tunes, or have adult discussions without the girls butting in. Also included with the TVs behind the driver and passenger seat headrest are preloaded games, so the kids can keep the fun going playing friendly competitive games together.
6. The simplicity of the apps included in the navigation system with no learning curb, it's pretty much self-explanatory. Also, the crystal clear display screen is remarkable!
7. We took two short day trips while having the Ford Expedition, returning home in the evenings. There were some dark roads during our travels, and automatically the SUV would turn on its high beams helping me see the way more clearly. When a car from the other direction is coming my way, the high beam turns off, then returns on once the vehicle passes. Such a smart feature!
8. The 360 camera is a vital feature that helped me out tremendously when trying to park. It's hard looking over the hood to see if I'm parked correctly, so there is a camera button that I can turn on displaying on the navigation screenshots all around the car. I use to be scared to park big SUV's, afraid that I would hit a nearby vehicle, but the Ford Expedition put me at ease helping me correctly park in a stall between two cars.
9. The transmission knob is a neat feature I have never seen before. It's kind of like knobs on a washer and dryer selection what function you would like the car to do.
10. The sound system is incredible! The B&O Play Premium auto system will have you feeling like you have a symphony in your car.
11. The black premium leather seating is like smooth butter, making you melt in your seats not wanting to get out the car once you reach your destination. Instantly, you feel relaxed, pampered, and for a more enhanced experience you can make the seats heat up, or cool down.
12. When you open the side doors, you're greeted with the step running board railings to help you enter inside the SUV. Once the side doors are closed, the railings go back in place.
13. When my cell phone is running a low battery, no need for me to pull out my charger. I can sync my phone on the charging dock wirelessly. No apps needed to download, the charging dock can be used immediately.
14. So many charging ports all around the car keeping everyone's devices fully charged. Several USB ports in front, middle, and back, 12-volt ports, even a standard plug you find in homes.
I can go on and on how much I admire about the Ford Expedition. Even though the price of this fantastic vehicle is $81,815.00, it's worth every penny!
I know I'm all about ways to save money on this blog, but sometimes you got to splurge a little on good quality. You want to have a vehicle that will last you for years to come, and that's a way to save you on repair expenses.
Take a look around you while driving, I bet you see a lot of older Expedition models still on the road today. So you get your money worth that's for sure with a car that lasts.
I spoke to an Expedition owner on Instagram who has a 2010 model with 170,000 miles on it and never had any major repairs, just did her regular full synthetic oil changes, had the brake pads replaced, and recently a rotor.
Although the price tag is high, it's budget-friendly when it comes to maintaining it. And still, you have the option of getting the base model with a starting price at $51,790.
With 2018 Ford Expedition fully loaded to the max, what will Ford think of next with 2019 Ford Expedition models? I can't wait to see!
