Can you believe that the Christmas season is here already? It's like it snuck up on us fast while we were not paying attention.
Before all the big holiday rush and commotion begins, my family and I have a tradition to kick-start our Christmas Season to help us get in the holiday spirit. We're a family that's all about experiences, and spending quality time with one another. So, we like to catch holiday live shows, take a special trip to our favorite restaurant, check out all beautiful Christmas lights at our favorite local amusement park, and after our delicious Thanksgiving feast, be amongst the crowds on Black Friday.
By visiting these places, it gets us all festive, cheery, and ready to kick-start our Christmas before it leads to the grand finale of our End of the Year/Beginning of the Year Family trip, a vacation that we reflect on the year and give thanks to another wonderful year together.
Check out the top places and things we like to do to Kick-Start Our Christmas Season:
1. Center for Puppetry Arts- Going on the 3rd year now for us, when it's getting close to Thanksgiving, we like to see Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. This timeless classic brings so much joy to our hearts showing that even though you may be different, you can do things like everyone else. You're special in your own unique way.
If you're in the Atlanta area, seeing this puppet show is a must! Young or old, the show is for everyone looking to get into the holiday spirit. I bet after seeing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer; it'll become your family tradition too!
2. True Food Kitchen- True Food Kitchen is a healthy, chef-driven, seasonal food restaurant. They serve brunch, lunch, and nutritious dinners.
After seeing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at Center for Puppetry Arts, the girls and I like to dine-in for lunch at True Food Kitchen at Lenox Mall, Atlanta getting our favorite chicken teriyaki bowls.

After lunch, we walk off our meals inside the mall while checking out all the upscale stores and picking up a few items, usually stocking up on skincare items.
3. Six Flags Over Georgia- Going on our 2nd year visiting Six Flags Over Georgia during their Holiday's in the Park, and it's like one of the most magical experiences! You first walk in and see all the millions of glowing lights, foamy snow coming down Main Street while carolers greet you by singing Christmas carols, it's like walking in a winter wonderland! See you what I did there! Ha!
Six Flags Over Georgia is now celebrating its 5th anniversary season with all their holiday festivities that includes 16 intricately themed areas, 30-holiday rides, dazzling live shows, and festive seasonal food, all combining to make Holiday in the Park the most magical time of the year!
4. Black Friday- I know a lot of people like to avoid Black Friday to be away from all the craziness, however, my family and I love to hit the streets that night to burn off our Thanksgiving dinner while checking out all the sales. We start our Black Friday adventure around 12 am to 1 am, returning home close to 4 am!
Although we don't spend much money on Black Friday, we use that time to bond together, laugh, and just have a good time. We even like talking to Black Friday shoppers asking them what the best stores to visit to find great deals and how their Thanksgiving holiday is going. Also, we enjoy chatting with store employees too, getting their take on Black Friday.
5. Oh, Christmas Tree!- After all the festivities to kick-start the Christmas season, we rest up after joy riding around Black Friday, then bring out our Christmas tree and decorations. We're team fake-tree, so we've used the same frosted tree for the last four years now. Great way for us to save money!
So, there you have it! This is our way we kick-start our Christmas Season! I would love to know how you all celebrate!
