Last week, I got a chance to escape from the kids and rode solo to the most significant event in town, Beloved Benefit! This event was too big to pass up, so I endured the grueling rush hour traffic to do media coverage for them at the new Mercedes Benz Stadium.
Did you know, this is my first time being in the Mercedes Benz Stadium? The stadium is humongous, and you can easily get lost inside, so security had to escort me to the section dedicated for media/VIP guest.
I can't compare which stadium is better, the old Georgia Dome, or Mercedes Benz Stadium since I never been to the Georgia Dome either, but I bet it's nothing compared to the newest stadium.
Walking in I was captivated by all the red and black seating, the colorful retractable ceiling, and the beautiful set up on the bottom floor for the special guest who got the exceptional fine-dining experience while listening carefully to the speakers.
Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Beloved Community, the evening brought together Atlanta citizens, leaders, celebrities, and professionals came together to tell the story of the Historic Westside Atlanta, and celebrate the work of those actively making a difference in the community. The giving support beneficiaries were Westside Future Fund, Westside Works, City of Refuge Atlanta, Grove Park Foundation, At-Promise Foundation, and Chick-fil-A Foundation who was the sponsor behind this life-changing benefit.

Thanks to this special giving event, Beloved Benefit raised over 5 million dollars, and donations went directly to Westside nonprofits.
I love that this event was no politics or pointing fingers involved, just people coming together to support their beloved communities and help uplift one another. It shows that there are good people in this world helping to make sure it is a better place for all.
Bruno Mars on Stage |
The night ended with the crowd on the floor rushing to the stage to see Bruno Mars perform his latest hits, and boy, did he kill it! I haven't been to a concert in years, and Bruno Mars had me rockin' out of my seats. And the theatrics was terrific; he put on quite the performance.
Make sure to help your local community. It doesn't have to involve money, just donating your time by volunteering. Your help can make a big difference.
Wow, that'a a nice stadium! That's exciting that you got to be a VIP media guest. Looks like it was fun.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely was a exciting and inspirational event!
