Now Playing: Children of Eden at Aurora Theatre

Now, this is how to start a weekend!  I was blown away at the magnificently done performance of Children of Eden at the Aurora Theatre opening night.  The play touched my soul, making me shed joyful tears and to be thankful for the life that was given to me.

It's like the Book of Genesis was brought to life with the tales of love, sacrifice, loyalty, forgiveness, family, and letting go.  It was the perfect story to share with my daughters.

The show was a reminder, life is short, let go of the pain and suffering that holds you, instead be grateful for all the love and joy that surrounds you.  Be sure to give thanks today.

Oh, and that cast!  Great to see the diversity!  Another reminder that all of Father's children come in many different shades.

If you're in the Atlanta area, make sure to see Children of Eden.

About Children of Eden:

Children of Eden, a hit musical about love, family and the power of forgiveness, is hitting Aurora Theatre's mainstage from July 18 – September 1! Boasting music from the great American composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell and Pippin) this epic masterpiece sets the Book of Genesis soaring. Narrated by the Storytellers, the uplifting piece takes the audience through the first nine and a half chapters of The Bible. Well-known stories of Adam, Eve and Noah have been adapted to shine a light on the themes of family dynamics, the conflict between authority and self-expression, personal responsibility, love, hope, restoration and so much more.

Suzi Bass Award-winner Brad Raymond, a renowned performer at some of the nation's most esteemed institutions –including the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Light Opera Works of Chicago, Arena Stage, The Alliance Theatre and Atlanta Opera – makes his Aurora debut as Father. Maxim Gukhman will play the roles of Adam and Noah and Naima Carter Russell, Suzi Award-winner Best Lead Actress in a Musical (Memphis) returns to Aurora as Eve and Mama. A large ensemble completes this stellar cast, who will perform under the award-winning creative team of director Justin Anderson, musical director Ann-Carol Pence and choreographer Ricardo Aponte.
