*Sings* ♫ THAT CAR IS ON FIREEEEE ♫!!!!
That's what Lauren's friends were singing when I pulled up in the car rider lane to pick up both of my daughters at school.
The All-New 2019 Chevy Blazer RS AWD was the talk of the whole school, had heads turning on the streets, getting points and hypnotized stares, this mid-size SUV is blazing HOT! The Blazer is back and better than ever!
Even the school principal stopped me to ask if this is the new Chevy Blazer he has seen on the commercials. He took a peek inside, and started checking out the front grille and tires, impressed by the sleek, edgy physique! It seems like with him and the school kids crowding around the car, I was having my own Chevy Blazer commercial moment.
Also, when the exterminator was at my house for my yearly termite inspection, he couldn't help but sing high praises of the look of the Blazer as well, he thought it's one beast of a vehicle!
Have you ever wanted a fast sports car, but need a vehicle with space for your family?
Chevrolet created the new Blazer in mind of those looking for a luxurious, sporty vehicle with space, that makes a statement. Think of the Blazer as a Camaro with four doors since it has the same looks and features like the 2-door sports car.
Chevy outdid themselves with the Blazer after a long hiatus; they came back, hitting hard, creating a bold, sophisticated styling inside and out. It stands out in the crowd with an eye-catching presence. Chevy fans will rejoice to have the Blazer back in the car line up. No car on the streets looks like the Blazer; it's in a league of its own.
I hit the streets with this bad boy doing my regular routines, drop off and pick up kids from school, attend an event, had dinner with friends, and took off to the Appalachian mountains for a quick day trip.
The Blazer is such a joy to drive, below I share some of the exciting things that stood out to me :
1. The Look: As you can see since I keep speaking on it, I love the exterior of the car. The two-tone, bright red on black gives the SUV an elegant, sleek look. Also, the interior is top-notch too, with black premium leather seating, with a splash of red and trimming giving the vehicle that wow factor.
2. Hands-Free: Georgia is a hands-free state, so no hands touching cell phones allowed. The Blazer has Bluetooth connectivity, so you can make voice calls. Also, the Blazer has its own dedicated phone number so people can call you through the car.
3. Safety: Chevy is all about safety when it comes to people driving their cars and the world around them. Of course, they have OnStar whereby a push of a button you have a live person to help you during the unexpected. Also, what blew me away is the car notifying you if there is a person or people nearby walking. It's keeping you alert to watch your surroundings. Another feature that is sadly needed and the Blazer have when you turn the car off, a friendly reminder pops up on the speedometer to look behind you to the passenger seating to make sure you're not leaving anyone behind. With all these deaths with kids being forgotten in hot cars, vehicles now need this alert.
4. Stay Connected: I love driving to the mountains, but a lot of areas do not have a cell phone signal, so my girls lose connection with their electronics. With the Blazer, there is WiFi HotSpot to keep you and your passengers connected to the Internet.
5. Hard-Hitting Speakers: Chevy teamed up with Bose to provide premium sound in their Blazers. I have the SiriusXM blasting to my favorite tunes sounding like I have a concert going on inside the vehicle.
6. Easy to Use Navigation System: I love the fact that the navigation system is user-friendly. When I was attending an event and needed direction, I was able to add the address with ease, and the navigation system helped find routes to get me to my destination quickly to avoid traffic congestion.
7. HD Surround Vision: The Blazer so far is the only car I have driven with picture clear camera to help make it clear for you when you back up and park.
8. Driver Mode: There are several drive modes to choose from: Tour, All-Wheel Drive, Sport Mode, Off-Road, and Tow/Haul. It's a car to fit all your needs.
9. Legroom: The Blazer is a bit bigger than the Equinox, so it has plenty of space for legroom and cargo.
10. Keep those Gadgets Charge: Nothing worse than to have a dead gadget. The Chevy Blazer has plenty of charger outlets throughout the vehicle.
There were a couple of things I didn't care for like the fuel economy. The gas didn't last long, which had me fueling up quicker than I would like (21 MPG 18 city and 25 highway).
And secondly, I felt the car drove stiffly. Don't get me wrong, the Blazer is packing a lot of horsepower (308 horsepower), it needs to loosen up a little. Maybe because it's a heavy-duty car? I don't know.
Are you interested in being one of the first to have 2019 Blazer? The starting price is $28,800, and if you're interested in the RS model with the total options, the cost is $51,215.00.
It was so hard to return this Blazer, I fell in love with it the moment I laid eyes on it.
Lauren wanted me to see if I could extend the loaner because she loved the attention she was getting from her classmates. I was definitely the coolest mom in the car rider lane.
Great job, Chevy!
