I wanted to go to Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for years now, but it was always sold out. When I visit Pigeon Forge, it's usually a last-minute trip, and getting tickets to Hatfield & McCoy must be booked far in advance, especially during the busy travel season.
I'm glad I finally had a chance to attend the show during my recent visit to Pigeon Forge, because goodness, that show had me in tears rolling in laughter! The Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show is the longest-running feud in history, and guests help the two feuding families try to settle their differences mountain-style.
I have been to several dinner shows this year, and all are different in theme. However, the dinner shows offer a preshow before the main event, so getting there an hour early is advised.
There are several steps when it comes to Hatfield & McCoy lively show.
With Hatfield & McCoy, the show starts the minute you step foot on the property by checking out the goats, chickens, and bunnies outside.
Next, if it's not crowded with guests, you can play games and check out the gift shop inside the building while waiting to be seated.
Third, you'll get your picture taken holding a gigantic shotgun.
Lastly, you'll be seated in your section in the main arena. Unlike the other dinner shows with just a pull-up chair seating, at Hatfield & McCoy, guests sit at checkered covered tables and served an all-you-can-eat southern-style feast of:
- Open Pit Pulled -to-Pieces Pork Barbeque
- Southern Style Creamy Soup
- No Tellin' What's In It Coleslaw
- Granny's Famous Specialty Dessert
There are special meals available upon request: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegetarian, and Vegan.
Mr. M mentioned that the food was excellent and reminded him of the original Kentucky Fried Chicken when it use to be good. And, with me not a fan of fried chicken or coleslaw, even I thought both were good-tasting. The way the food is served is like gathering around the table with family eating Sunday dinner.
Our server was hilarious when taking our drink orders, Lauren and I chose sweet teas, and our server said, "Oh, you want two diabetes! Coming right up!"
You should have seen my face, made me feel guilty ordering it knowing good and well I should be drinking water as my hairstylist told me.
And Mr. M and Michelle ordered water, and the server said, "Okay, y'all want that creek water."
Eww! But of course, he didn't serve that.
Although the food is all-you-can-eat, you got to tell your server if you would like to have more food because you will notice once the show begins the server will not return until the end, I'll share why in a minute.
The comedy show starts with a preshow music skit, kiss cam funnies, and bringing kids from the audience to the stage to do silly dances while guests can have a chance to eat their dinner.
The comedy show tells a hilarious story of two families that are fighting each other over a pig and owing money.
And while watching the show, remember I told you about our funny server? He was in the show itself! He was a high diving hillbilly jumping off diving boards into a deep pool of water. Also, I noticed that the people that were checking tickets, snapped our photo, and many of the servers play a role in the show too. Once the show was over, I asked my server if that was him, and he said yes, he is a man of many jobs!
The dinner show is filled with singing, dancing, hijinks, stunts, audience participation, and of course, laugh out loud comedy. The production was outstanding and very well done! Bravo!
My family and I came to the conclusion that Hatfield & McCoy is by far the best dinner show we have seen in Pigeon Forge. Now, don't get me wrong, all the dinner shows we attended are good, but we're more of a family that enjoys comedies.
Hatfield & McCoy have daily shows at 5pm and 8pm, and during the holiday season, there is a Christmas Disaster Show that I heard is a must-see.
Disclosure: Thank you Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud Show for hosting me and my family! All thoughts and opinions are our own.
