Now, this is a virtual reality game I had never tried before that blew my mind!
The girls and I were invited to The VOID that just opened in Atlanta, the world's most immersive virtual reality experience that uses state-of-the-art VR technology, physical stages and multi-sensory effects that includes touch and smell.
When we arrived, first, we learned what our mission was by watching a video in a room. Next, we suited up with a headset and vest gear. And lastly, we went inside another room and became Storm Troopers from Star Wars (Secrets of the Empire).
The game was like no other, it was like stepping into a real virtual world inside a game itself. We were shooting enemies, and can actually touch, smell, and speak to one another inside the game.
Thank goodness for the girls because I was terrible; I kept getting shot up by the rival Storm Troopers and other bad guys, and yes, I felt every shot too! When getting shot, it is a bit intense, kind of like when you get hit during laser tag.
And unlike those virtual reality games you put on a headset and stay in one spot, we were walking in several places in a virtual space aircraft.
This game was awesome! It's genuinely an experience everyone should try out. It's a lot of fun when you go in groups.
Coming soon to the Atlanta location there will be Wreck-It Ralph, Ghostbusters, and Nicodemus games.
It's so incredible how advanced technology is, it's like you can step inside a new world!
The whole experience is about 15-20 minutes, and I was told the price is $39.99 per person. The game itself is 10 minutes. I will say that I wish the game were longer, especially with the high fee, but still, it's an exhilarating game that gamers should try.
Here's a tip for the best experience, get your tickets online because if you try to do walk-in tickets, it will depend if they have available time slots that day.
Also, I would like to mention that The VOID is centrally located in The Battery next door to SunTrust Park, Atlanta Braves stadium. After visiting The VOID, you should check out all the sports bars, restaurants, shops, and live entertainment. And if the Braves are in town, catch a game too.
Disclosure: We were invited to experience The VOID, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
