Last week, the girls and I were invited to the grand opening celebration of The Burgess Hotel, the first boutique hotel located in the heart of Buckhead, Georgia, with easy access to all the popular attractions in Atlanta. This charming, eclectic atmosphere hotel is a hidden gem that stands out from the crowd. The Burgess sparks it's own personality, inviting guests to see the world through their eyes.

What's a Boutique Hotel and How is it Different than Hotel Chains?
A boutique hotel is a small hotel that usually has up to 100 rooms in a unique setting. The owner of boutique hotels can freely design the hotel the way they see fit, instead of needing to look a specific style like chain hotels. You'll notice that boutique hotels have more of a particular taste aesthetic. Make sure to check out another boutique hotel we visited.
The Burgess Hotel use to be Wingate by Wyndham, turning into a vibrant, hip, luxurious hotel that is like walking into a work of art! This 102-room hotel is owned by hoteliers Freny and Burges Jokhi, and the custom artwork showcase throughout the hotel is designed by Jessica Jokhi, an acclaimed Chicago based artist, and the daughter of owners Burges and Freny.
From the outside of the hotel, you wouldn't know the trendy vibe that is going on inside, but you have to see for yourself, this boutique hotel will have you ready to book your stay immediately!
When I walked into the lobby, the first thing I noticed was the Chinese Dragon sitting on top of a lounge seating booth. So, the first impression I thought the hotel would be a Chinese inspired theme. While browsing around, I can see that The Burgess decor is a celebration of several cultural destinations from around the world, and their suites will have you whisk away to International spots like China, London, Arabia, India, Moroccan, Bali, Fiji, and South Africa.
During our suite tour, the girls mentioned how they would love to stay at The Burgess and bring all their friends for an overnight stay. I agree the rooms are beautifully done, with nothing left untouched, with decor aesthetic well thought out. From wallpaper, furniture, flooring, you feel like you are traveling the world.
Even though the themed suites are all decked out with global style artwork, standard rooms are stylishly designed as well, giving guests the same feel of world-class lodging.
Oh, and the International theme doesn't stop there in the lobby and rooms, the design palette flows through the two meeting rooms, and high-tech fitness center as well.
The hotel boasts Fia Restaurant and Mr. B. Bar, two chef-driven, destination food and beverage outlets created by Apicii Hospitality Group, an award-winning hospitality company.
After our tour of the suites, and coming together to celebrate the grand opening with the owners, the girls and I had dinner after the festivities. Fia Restaurant offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu with a focus on wood-fired dishes. Everything we ate was flavorful that gave off a feel of eating from top International travel destinations. And I noticed the dishware had an exquisite design too.
For those wanting to have a drink, Mr. B. Bar specializes in craft cocktails and fine spirits, all anchored by an intimate library with a cozy fireplace. Mr. B. Bar is named in honor of Freny's late father, Keki Bunshah, who organized the first Indian expedition to Mount Everest.
