Celebrating Black Restaurant Week at Nancy's Pizzeria in Dunwoody, Georgia
Did you know that Black-Owned culinary businesses across the nation come together each year to celebrate the best in food and beverages?
Black Restaurant Week is committed to the Black Culinary Industry's education and awareness in the United States of America. Using a combination model of awareness and education events, Black Restaurant Week stimulates African American-owned culinary businesses and farms across the United States.
To achieve its mission of growth in the culinary industry, Black Restaurant Week aims to create experiences that cater to a diverse culture of taste-makers, professionals, and area foodies looking for exposure to delicious food and exquisite wines.
If you notice, I am a huge fan of visiting different restaurants and getting a taste of various foods.
My passion for food started when I was living in California, working at a Restaurant Fixtures Depot. It was exciting seeing new and old clients come in to get appliances for their establishments, and as a thank you, they would bring in their popular dishes try. I was introduced to Indian, Thai, Mediterranean, Italian, African, Korean, etc. and grew a passion for food from different cultures.
Since opening up to a world of foods at a young age, I was able to pass down my joy of cultural cuisine with my daughters.
From September 4 - September 13, Atlanta celebrated the fourth annual Atlanta Black Restaurant Week. This ten-day event showcased the best of culinary arts. People can dine at one of the participating restaurants offering a special Black Restaurant Week menu.
The girls and I returned to our favorite pizza joint, Nancy's Pizzeria, in Dunwoody for a night of great food, praise, and gather around with other entrepreneurs to learn about their businesses.
Nancy's Pizzeria serves the famous Chicago-style stuffed-crust pizza, thin-crust pizza, pasta plates, and more. It's always a great dining experience when visiting Nancy's Pizzeria.
The night was filled with positivity, connecting, uplifting one another, with black entrepreneurs coming together to celebrate our wins. I'm so happy my daughters could experience all this black excellence and see that they, too, can achieve anything they set their minds to.
There are more people out there like myself and Mr. M, creating financial freedom and creating a legacy for our daughters. The girls and I met a car dealership owner, an app creator, a serial entrepreneur, and a gospel singer who worked hard to become successful business owners.
Nancy's Pizzeria is an excellent restaurant for any gatherings like hosting an event, family dinner night out and having drinks with friends.
