I was behind the wheel of the 2021 Toyota Avalon TRD, a spicy hot full-size car that had my adrenaline pumping while hitting the highways to and from Florida.
I have driven the 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Limited a couple of years back, remember that? I enjoyed that model, and I definitely loved the 2021 TRD!
2021 Toyota Avalon TRD is more of a sportier vehicle, not the typical Avalon that's more suited for retirees. The Avalon TRD got the sleek, hard-hitting style that makes people of all ages want it.
The first thing you noticed is the massive sharp grille that gives the car its signature edgy look. I noticed that the grilles are getting bigger each year with the Avalon, but I have no complaints; the bigger, the better!
The abstract lines give the car a robust and luxurious appearance, just like the Lexus vehicles. So, you can save a few coins by purchasing a Toyota instead of Lexus, yet still have a luxury car.
The pop of red is fierce! The red line edge design on the exterior and stitching and seat belt interior give the car a fiery racer look. Makes you want to take this baby on the race tracks!
As I mentioned, my whole family and I made a 7-hour road trip from Atlanta to Orlando, and we had our guinea pigs in tow with us.
This was our first time road-tripping with our beloved furbabies, and I was quite nervous about how they would do with such a long drive.
Thanks to the Avalon being such a smooth ride, the guinea pigs settled in and got comfortable in their crate.
The piggies were antsy at first because they thought they were going to the vet but realized that they were going somewhere different, and my daughters kept them occupied with snacks and lots of cuddles. I'm pretty sure that they enjoyed the car as well, especially looking out the window checking out the scenery.
The great thing is that the 2021 Toyota Avalon TRD had a lot of space, with legroom and seating fitting four people, a crate, our suitcases, a backpack, and all our shopping bags. It makes a fantastic family vehicle!

With the Avalon, you spend more time on the road instead of getting gas, so I only stopped for gas once going to Orlando and returning home (25 MPG, 21 City, 30 Highway).
The Flyest Car at the Gas Station
We stopped for gas at one of our favorite Texas gas stations that recently opened up in Georgia, Buc-ee's, a travel center known for clean bathrooms and many fueling positions. The travel center is also enormous, with a full deli, bakery, and largest convenience store globally. This may be the only time I enjoy going to a gas station. But hey, I had one of the hottest cars at the pump that had all heads spinning.
Creating New Memories at Universal Studios Orlando
While vacationing in Orlando, I wanted the whole family to experience Universal Studios again since it's been since 2014 we last visited. My daughters were younger then and didn't remember much of Universal, so they needed a refresher.
Our time at Universal Studios brought back so many memories, and the joys we had then, and the new memories we created now.
My daughters are big Spongebob and Simpson fans, so they had to see both of their favorite cartoon attractions and purchase some souvenirs to bring back home.
The weather was mild, the crowds were light, so we comfortably got to do a lot in one day.
Shopping for Spring Clothes at the Outlets
One of the top go-to things we like to do in Orlando is shop at their outlet stores. Orlando outlets are the best, with a great selection of clothes and accessories that is hard to find in Georgia. The girls did their spring clothes shopping at a couple of outlet store locations.
We did other things like dining out and drive-around site-seeing.
The 2021 Toyota Avalon TRD is such a fun, smooth ride that's spacious, reliable, comfortable, and will have you wanting to go different places in it. It'll have you wondering, "where to go next?"
This ice-edge with midnight black and red four-door vehicle with all the bells and whistles total price is $43,870.00. Not bad at all!
