Now, I'm no big fan of pimento cheese and almost didn't attend the event because I would hate to go and give a bad review due to my bias opinion.
However, Lauren told me to attend the event anyway because I never know I may enjoy it.
So, the girls and I headed to Food & Lifestyle TV Studios at Prep 2 in Atlanta to give Suga's Pimento Cheeses a try.
Before walking into the studio, we could smell all the delicious aromas filling the air that Mrs. Suga and her son were cooking up, and right then, I knew I made the right decision to show up.
Showcased on the kitchen counters was a tasty display of foods made with Suga's famous cheeses.

After having my fill of all the delicious foods on the menu, it had me craving for more! Suga's Pimento Cheeses taste nothing like the ones I had before; I just haven't been eating the real pimento cheeses. I see why Suga's Pimento Cheeses is considered the caviar of the south!
Also, it's impressive all the foods you can make using pimento cheeses. At first, I thought pimento cheese was more of a dip for crackers, but now it's shown it can be used with burgers, plates of pasta, eggs, pizza, and even cookies! Wow! You can get really creative with your dishes with pimento cheese.
I got a couple of Suga's Pimento Cheeses to take home to cook. So far, I made cheesy egg sandwiches with it that was a hit in my household. I can't wait to make more meals using Suga's Pimento Cheeses!
The Story Behind the Cheese
Suga’s Pimento Cheese was born out of the love for flavor and creativity in the kitchen. Stacey West, or as she’s most commonly referred to “Chef Suga” began her culinary journey at a young age, stating that God placed the desire to create and to serve others on her heart.
Chef Suga is an honor graduate of the acclaimed Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta. She’s worked with top chefs in the metro Atlanta area, including Chef Hilary of The Hill at Serenbe and Chef Holly, Executive Chef of Georgia Grown. Each of these experiences inspired Chef Suga to start a restaurant of her own.
In 2017, Chef Suga, her son Quinton and her husband Robert took over the Sunday brunch at a metro area restaurant. They spent their Sunday mornings in the kitchen serving up southern classics such as chicken and waffles, catfish po’boys, sweet potato corn muffins, and their famous pimento cheese grits for two months. The brunch menu was a hit, but the cheese grits stood out week after week as the most requested item. Soon enough, customers were asking for the pimento cheese alone. After identifying this trend, Chef Suga decided it was time to give the people what they wanted and perfected two pimento cheese recipes (Original and Jalapeno) to be served and sold independently.
With continued success at the restaurant, Chef Suga and her family began selling her pimento cheese at a local farmers’ market close to home. After selling out on day one, they knew they had to do more—more cheese, more markets, more happy customers!
Soon enough, two flavors turned into eight (and growing). Flavors now range from subtle and mild to south-of-the-border hot with local farm fresh peppers and real spiced cheeses, each unique flavor all its own.
Customers began raving about the texture and flavor and eventually began requesting a vegan option. Stacey went to work in true Suga’s fashion to create four 100% dairy-free vegan varieties with no soy, dairy, tree nuts, and pea plant protein. Suga’s Pimento Cheese is the only brand of pimento cheese in the south serving the vegan community.
Customers continue to rave about their favorite flavors, claiming it’s “the best pimento cheese” they’ve ever had. Adults and kids alike cannot get enough! This community feedback and Suga’s skyrocketing success are what keep her going. She continues to master her craft in the kitchen, perfect her recipes and dream up new flavors day after day.
With her new commercial kitchen, a team of five market reps, and her product in retail stores across metro Atlanta, Chef Suga is committed to keeping up with the demand for her Gourmet pimento cheeses. Each batch is made with love and appreciation for those that continue to support her.
Pimento cheese is what the Wests do best!
