Helping me Stick to my Healthy Eating Plan: Metabolic Meals Review

I've been on a wellness journey to get back healthy for a while now.  After my doctor told me last year that I needed to lose weight, I committed myself to a healthier lifestyle.  I'm happy to report that I have now lost 20lbs thanks to eating whole foods and exercising regularly.

A few places I like to shop for my foods now are Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Fresh Market, because these supermarkets are known for selling products free from hydrogenated fats and artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

Shopping at these grocery stores helps keep me on track and not give in to unhealthy temptations.

Yes, these stores are expensive, but I look at it this way, I instead pay more for healthy foods than paying high doctor bills.  And trust me, those doctor bills were starting to rack up, even with having medical insurance.  It's no fun when I had to be in and out of the doctor's office and hospital to get well.

With a change in my eating habits, my diet consists of fresh fruits and vegetables daily, and I cut back on dairy products, rice, pasta, and bread.  Oh, yeah, I drink a lot of water too!

Also, almost daily, I drink freshly made smoothies mixing up my favorite fruits and vegetables together.  However, at times I do drink a protein shake as a meal replacement.

I'm so proud of myself!  Already I'm close to hitting my weight loss goal, and I know with me staying the course, I'll achieve it.

During summer break, while my daughters were out of school, I use the downtime to focus on my health.  I would do daily meal preps and cooked dinner almost nightly.

This routine has been going well, but now my daughters are returning to school, and our schedules will be back to busy again, with our days starting at 4:30am and ending about 10-11pm.

I needed to figure out a way to stay on track and not fall off to bad eating habits of eating fast foods and convenience foods.

I thought about doing one of those meal delivery services, you know, the ones that send you freshly prepared meals right to your doorstep.

But, I didn't want to commit to a subscription service.  I like to buy my meals as I go and choose what meals I get without getting my card charged every month.

Recently, I heard about www.mymetabolicmeals.com, a healthy prepared meal delivery service.  Metabolic Meals offers chef-prepared meals that are soy and gluten-free, using only organic, clean ingredients.  Meals come to your door fresh and only need two minutes to heat up.

Metabolic Meals reached out to me on Instagram to gift me with their starter meals, to share my thoughts about it.

How Metabolic Meals Work

First, you pick a meal plan that fits your lifestyle; either you choose a meal plan that fits your dietary needs or have an internationally-trained chef design a meal plan for you.

I honestly prefer to pick myself; since I have essential hypertension, my meals must be low in sodium.  Also, I need low-calorie meals to help me continue to lose weight.

When you pick your own meals, you get to choose from 6 to 22 meals per week with starting price of $9.95 per meal.

When having a chef choose your meals for you, you get a structured menu of 3, 5, or 7 Days per week, at starting price of $25.14 per day.

While browsing through the 30+ nutritious foods, Metabolic Meals have Main Entrees, Breakfast, Desserts, Dinner, and you can even build your own meal.  All meals come available in two proton sizes to support a wide range of goals.

All the pictures look so delicious, making you ready to eat!  Meals look like they were freshly made in a restaurant.

You choose a delivery date you want to have your meals shipped to you.

Now, remember I said I didn't want to subscribe to a subscription plan?

With Metabolic Meals, their plans are flexible and commitment-free, so you can skip weeks or cancel anytime.  So, that, to me, is doable.

When my meals arrived, they came in a sturdy corrugated box with frozen ice packs to keep meals cold.

These are the chef-chosen meals that were sent to me:

  • Herb Roasted Chicken and Cheesy Broccoli Pilaf

  • Rotisserie Turkey with Sour Cream and Onion Potatoes Wedges

  • Organic Free-Range Turkey Chili Mac

  • Meat Lover's Pizza Homestyle Chicken Tenders with Cheesy Cheddar Mashed Cauliflower, Organic Corn and Gravy

  • Grass-Fed Beef Burger with Fontina Cheese and Garlic Roasted Pistachio Broccoli

Herb Roasted Chicken and Cheesy Broccoli Pilaf

Each meal share the allergens, opening instructions, microwave heating instructions, ingredients, and nutrition facts.  Also, meals must be consumed within 7 days or frozen for up to 60 days.

All the meals I received were so flavorful!  I was expecting it to be bland, but all were very tasty!  It's like having your own personal chef cooking you fresh, healthy meals at home.

My favorite was the Organic Free-Range Turkey Chili Mac.

These made-from-scratch meals will help me continue my wellness journey and save me time during the week with fewer trips to the supermarket and less time food prepping.

I'll for sure continue using Metabolic Meals!
