Recently, I did a juice cleanse and want to share my experience and if you actually lose weight from it.
What is a Juice Cleanse?
You may be wondering what is a juice cleanse and what's the benefits of just consuming juice?
Juice Cleanse is when you drink only juice from fresh fruits and vegetables to help detox your body by removing toxins and also help you lose weight. It's a great way to get a jumpstart with your health and wellness journey.
Doing a juice cleanse diet is about two weeks; however, you can do a liquid juice cleanse for a few days to see if that helps ditch your bad eating habits and recharge your body.
Since I've been on a health and wellness journey for over a year now, I only did a one-day juice cleanse to detox my body. This is because my eating habits started to become bad again after my daughters returned to school after the winter break, and their school activities had me so busy that I hadn't had the time to cook dinner at home.
So, we ate out in the evenings daily due to our busy schedules.
Now, we weren't eating fast foods or unhealthy meals, but eating at restaurants and a few fast-casual places.
Due to the diet change, I noticed that my weight loss had halted. So I wasn't gaining, but I wasn't losing either.
My body was definitely in need of some cleansing and to get back on track on a healthier, whole foods diet again.

Before you Start Juice Cleansing
Before you start juice cleansing, you need to do to prepare yourself.
- Make sure you're giving your body enough sleep
- Return to eating healthy again
- Get your body moving by exercising
- Start cutting out alcohol
- Keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water
I made sure to get myself ready before my juice cleanses to get the best experience possible. Already I workout 4-5 times a week and drink water throughout the day, plus I don't drink alcohol either. Also, I ate healthy meals the day before.
But I do need to work on my sleeping habits, though. With my busy schedule, I don't get enough sleep.

As I mentioned before, the taste of these juices is bursting with fruity, refreshing flavors. My favorite is the juices with turmeric because it gives that warm taste, similar to drinking seasonal fall drinks.
How I felt During my Juice Cleanse
I felt OK from 7am to 11am; I wasn't hungry or feeling like I needed to use the restroom.
However, once 12pm hit, the hunger started and feeling dehydrated even though I was drinking water with the juices.
With Lemonkind core cleanse, you can eat a little bit of fresh raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and a small salad with a low-calorie dressing.
I did consume some fruits and a small salad for lunch and nuts for a snack to curb my appetite.
By the late afternoon, I still felt dehydrated, drinking more water than I regularly do, making me urinate constantly. However, I didn't have crazy bowel movements like those detox teas.
I'm not a juice drinker; I mainly drink water, teas, or smoothies, so my body isn't used to drinking so much juice, which could be why I felt dehydrated.
But, I will say that I didn't feel hungry by the end of the day after eating the small portions of fruits, nuts, and salad.
After the juice cleanses, the following morning, I weighed myself and saw that I had lost 3 pounds! Also, I still wasn't feeling hungry, so the juices helped to prevent me from overeating.
But, after the cleanse, it's recommended to slowly start eating digestible, hydrating foods, like fruits and leafy greens, before beginning to eat heavier meals, or risk gaining weight back or more, plus risking going back to unhealthy eating habits again.
Three days after the cleanse, my appetite decreased significantly, keeping the weight I lost off and boosting energy. Plus, my water intake is now much more than before the cleanse! I love the improvements this juice cleanse provided me in just a day of doing it. I feel I may have been able to do a three-day cleanse easily.
