Wow, I can't believe my youngest is now 15! Fifteen!!! Goodness, time, please slow down; I'm not ready for Michelle to be an adult yet, and Lauren, who turns 17 later this year.
Last year, we celebrated Michelle's big day by renting out a movie theater for her and her friends. This year, Michelle wanted to do a picnic at a local park.
Since I had the reigns of getting everything set up, I didn't want to purchase all the needed picnic supplies, and then once the picnic was over, I would have things lying around in my house collecting dust. Plus, setting everything up at the park and taking it down while wearing a dress is not something I wanted to be doing.
So, I decided to hire an event planner. Also, hire a caterer as well.
This was my first time hiring an event planner, so I didn't know who to call and had a couple of weeks to find one, so I searched online for picnic companies near me.
The first company I contacted through their website didn't call me back (if you have a business using a contact form, please make sure you're checking to see if you have entries daily, or you'll lose business as this company did)
The following picnic company I found was Pop Up Picnics ATL.
Pop Up Picnics ATL specializes in curating a uniquely creative, intimately luxurious picnic experience. In addition, they love cultivating gorgeous picturesque affairs for each of their clients!
How Pop Up Picnics ATL Works
1. First, you book your picnic. There is a calendar of available dates and times. You can book 72 hours before your desired date and time.
2. Second, Pop Up Picnics ATL will deliver and set up your picnic at your destination choice. It will be done before your arrival.
3. Third, you enjoy your luxury picnic, and after your time is up, Pop Up Picnics does the packing and the clean-up. All you have to do is get up and go.
On the Pop Up Picnics ATL website, there are different picnic styles, like The Moroccan Collection, Bohemian, Monochromatic, and more. Michelle wanted something cute and pink, so she chose the Pretty in Pink option for up to 6 guests ($520), perfect for celebrating her birthday with her besties.
The picnic has many add-on options to enhance the experience, like igloos, teepee tents, lounge chairs, and elegant charcuterie boards. I added on a charcuterie board ($120).
Pop Up Picnics ATL requires a 50% deposit with the remaining balance due 5 business days before your picnic date. They will also call to ensure everything is set up to your approval before the picnic.
They did an excellent job setting up everything, and when we arrived at the park, Michelle's eyes lit up with amazement at how gorgeous everything looked. The picnic was picture-perfect and a memory Michelle will cherish forever.
The picnic came with everything I needed, like cups, napkins, plates, drinks, utensils, games, and more! And I'm glad I added the charcuterie board; it gave the picnic spread the perfect touch.
And what I appreciated was Pop Up Picnics ATL giving me extra time since one of Michelle's friends arrived before the experience ended.
Michelle told me that this birthday was the best by far, and looking forward to hiring an event planner for next year! With her turning 16, she wants to go all out. (Yeah, looking to make me broke!)
If you're looking to do a luxury picnic this year, check out Pop Up Picnics ATL. They service all of Georgia (There is a travel fee for outside of Atlanta). Including pop-up staycation at home, hotel, Airbnb, paint parties, and dinner party service.
By using Pop Up Picnics ATL, they saved me time and money. All I had to worry about was food, that's it!
As for food, I did catering service at my favorite local bakery, The Baking Grounds, who made Michelle's designer cake a couple of years ago. Michelle had an assortment of sandwiches, desserts, and a birthday cake.
