Are you looking to try authentic Japanese snacks?
Or, how about having fun experiencing snacks you never tried before being shipped to your doorstep every month?
If you remember, I did a taste-testing of Japanese snacks and candies from Japan Crate several years back. The theme of that particular box was the Thanksgiving edition.
Now, I got to try out Japan Crate's New Year Edition snack and candy box. And again, seeing all the colorful sweet, savory snacks when I opened the box was exciting and even more fun tasting them all! Well, more like my daughters eating it all for themselves.

Suppose you want to do something other than a subscription but want to try out Japanese snacks. In that case, I recommend using their sister account, Sugoi Mart.
Although exploring all the different Japanese snacks is entertaining, my favorite part is reading about the box's theme. I loved learning about how people in Japan celebrate bring in the new year.
When celebrating New Year's in Japan, it is considered good luck to participate on the morning of January 1st. First, by watching the sunrise, lining up to visit a shrine to do Hatsumode, and praying to deities for spiritual blessings and good fortune.
As well as eating Osechi Ryori, small traditional foods inside a black multi-layered bento box are shared with the whole family.
So, the word of the month is Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu, the standard way to say Happy New Year in Japan.

Is Japan Crate Worth Subscribing?
You may be wondering, is the Japan Crate Subscription box worth it?
It is well worth the price you pay and the number of snacks you receive from the source.
I visited local Japanese grocery stores in my area and couldn't find the snacks I tried in my Japan Crate box. So, these snacks are exclusive.
