I love when I get goodies in the mail! Recently I received a box of Curls Hair Products and Wet Brush Products to try out and share my thoughts.
I'm very familiar with both brands because I used them during my natural hair journey, and I even blogged about using Wet Brush on my daughters' hair (formally known as The Wet Brush) when they were younger. Ah, the memories!
I wonder why I stopped using both brands, maybe because I started hopping on every hair trend I saw on social media and forgotten about them. But I'm happy they're both still going strong and have a catalog filled with various hair products.
Check out the hair products I received below and what I thought about each one:
About Curls Hair Products
Curls Hair Products are designed for all curly hair types, from loose waves to tight coils. They have everything from shampoos and conditioners to styling products like gels and creams. The best part is that these products are made with natural ingredients and are free from harsh chemicals that can damage your hair.
Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly- This Blueberry scented jelly is one of the original styler products from the Curls line-up of hair products, and I used this years ago. This curl control jelly works well for those looking for tighter, defined curls without frizz that curls last all day.
I like that it doesn't make your hair sticky once dry or leave a white cast. Also, I didn't need to use any other products along with the jelly. The styler works great when styling wash and go's, twist out, braid out, and roller sets!
To refresh, I get my water bottle and mist water throughout my hair, shake it out, and add more curl jelly on spots that need touch-ups.
The only downside of Curl's Blueberry Bliss Curl Jelly is its size; it needs to be bigger. My oldest daughter, who has long, thick, curly hair, uses almost the entire bottle for her wash-and-go's. She can only get two uses out of this jelly.
However, while browsing Curl's website, I noticed they have a larger 32oz size available!
Curls Soothing & Cooling Scalp Potion- I didn't get a chance to use this scalp potion; however, it looks like it will work well when my daughters wear braided hairstyles. Their hair gets itchy in braids after a few weeks, so the Soothing & Cooling Scalp Potion would be good for their irritated scalps.
The potion bottle includes a dropper for precise application directly to the scalp. It is suitable for use before and after braiding hair.
The scent smells minty, like menthol, so it'll have a cooling effect on the scalp.
Curls So So Def Vitamin C Curl Defining Jelly- This jelly will tighten your curls more than Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly!
However, I was not too fond of the So So Def Vitamin C Curl Defining Jelly, which made my hair sticky and felt built up with products. Additionally, I found it difficult to dispense the product from the bottle, although the pineapple scent was pleasant.
Curls Sea Slip Mineral Infused Curl Slime Jelly- Another styler jelly that revives dull, dry hair while moisturizing hair giving it a medium hold.
I didn't try the Sea Slip Mineral Infused Curl Slime Jelly out since the bottle I received is too small, more like a travel size. I would need a bigger bottle to give a proper review.
From what I see with other reviews, it gives less definition than the other two curl jellies I mentioned, so it's great for those looking more a softer, looser curl pattern look.
Also, the downside I read about this product was flaking and curls not lasting after a few days.
About Wet Brush
Wet Brush is a brand of hair brushes and combs designed to detangle wet hair without causing pain or damage. They have flexible bristles that glide through hair without pulling or tugging, making them a favorite among people with all hair types. The brushes and combs are also available in various colors and sizes to suit different needs and preferences. Many people swear by Wet Brush as the best tool for tackling wet hair and keeping it looking smooth and healthy.
Wet Brush Detangling Comb- The Wet Brush Detangling comb has been a game changer for me! My hair has been shedding a lot as I've gotten older and dealt with thyroid issues. I noticed hairballs in my comb when I used other brands, but I haven't experienced that problem since switching to this comb.
And my oldest daughter loves using this comb because it gently glides through her hair while untangling.
The WaveTooth design ensures that hair is evenly distributed across the teeth, making detangling feel effortless.
Wet Brush Go Green Curl Detangler- When I first saw this detangler brush, I doubted its ability to handle tough tangles due to its flexible bristles. However, it proved me wrong!
The bristles adjust to my curl pattern to allow flexibility while brushing my hair, which helps protect my hair from breakage.
My daughter's thick hair, which has broken numerous brushes and combs, was easily detangled using this brush.
Wet Brush Shower Detangler- I usually use a comb while washing my hair in the shower, but this Shower Detangler, made me put my comb to the side.
When I put my conditioner in my hair, the Wet Brush Shower Detangler also has flexible bristles that glide through my hair and evenly distribute my conditioner from roots to tip while also detangling my hair.
When I check out the shower brush after use, I hardly have any shed hair or breakage in the bristles.
And I love hanging up the brush using the shower hook handle after I'm done using it.
I enjoy revisiting these brands and observing their growth. Now, I have new hair products that have improved the fullness and health of my hair! Make sure to check out both Curls and Wet Brush if you have curly hair.
