Does Musely's The Hair Solution and The Hair Pill Works? My Honest Review

If you've been following me for a while now, you know that I have been on a health and wellness journey and a journey to regrow my hair for quite some time.

I didn't know that my health was why my hair fell out. Thank goodness I went to the doctor and got bloodwork done to see the cause of the over shedding.

I like to wear my hair in short, curly styles, but with so much hair loss, my scalp started showing, and my parts started widening.

I've done shampoos and conditioners that helped with the hair shedding, but I needed a more prescription-strength treatment that would not only stop my hair from shedding but also regrow my hair. 

If you remember, I shared about Musely, an online telehealth company that offers effective prescription treatments straight to your doorstep.

I tried Musely's Spot Cream with great success, so I thought to try their hair loss treatments.

So, I went on Musely's website, filled out their medical form, and had to send pics of my hair for a doctor to take a look and prescribe me the correct medication to fit my needs.

You cannot use these hair prescriptions if you are on blood pressure medication.

From what I read on Musely's website, use The Hair Topical Solution and The Hair Pill together for maximum results. So, I chose to do both.

Musely's The Hair Solution and The Hair Pill Treat the following concerns:

• Thinning
• Widening Part
• Bald Spots
• Receding Hairline

The Hair Topical Solution is formulated with minoxidil, dutasteride, and spironolactone to encourage hair growth while halting hair loss. The cost was $90.00.

The Hair Pill is an oral hair growth solution formulated with minoxidil, dutasteride, spironolactone, and added supplements to combat thinning and promote growth. The cost was $84.00.

The next day, after filling out the medical questionnaire, a doctor approved me for both treatments.

The Hair Topical Solution had these ingredients in it:

• Minoxidil 6%
• Spironolactone 0.05%
• Tretinoin 0.01%
• Ketoconazole 2%

The Hair Pill called Sprout had these ingredients in it:

• Minoxidil 1mg
• Spironolactone 60mg

It took about a week to receive both treatments in the mail. 

 

My Thoughts on The Hair Topical Solution and The Hair Pill

The doctor advised using The Hair Topical Solution and The Hair Pill together.

Here are my thoughts about Musely's The Hair Solution:

The Hair Solution is like a liquid serum that you apply 1-2 droppers full to the scalp once per night or as directed by the doctor.

The smell of the solution was that of a strong mint, like toothpaste. I was not too fond of that.  

Also, when I applied the solution to my scalp, I felt tingling but not burning.

As suggested, I applied this solution before I went to bed. However, the following morning, I had a pounding headache. I assumed it was from the solution but wanted to try again the next evening.

Again, I applied the solution to the affected areas of my scalp, and this time, within an hour or two, my headache came back! Sure enough, The Hair Solution was causing headaches, so I had to stop using it.

So, unfortunately, I'm unsure if The Hair Solution works since I had to discontinue using it.

Pros

• Easy to apply and doesn't drip down the scalp

Cons

• Smells like strong mint
• Causes Headaches
• Expensive

Here are my thoughts about Musely's Hair Sprout (Hair Pills):

The hair pills come in a 90-day supply bottle. 

I had a better experience with these pills.  

These little green pills also had a strong, pungent smell that stinks. But I didn't let that bother me because I needed my hair to start growing back.

Taking the pills with a full glass of water once daily is recommended.

I noticed new sprouting hair around my edges during the 30-day mark. Also, I started noticing growing hair in places I didn't want to grow hair, like my upper lip, chin, and arms. The hair on my lips grew so much that I had to pluck it!

However, once I hit the 90-day mark of using these pills, my hair grew back so much and then some!  

My hair was no longer shedding and felt much stronger and thicker.  

So, I didn't need to use both prescriptions; the pills worked fine on their own.

• Stops hair shedding
• Easy to swallow
• Come in a 90-day supply

Cons

• Smells bad
• Causes unwanted hair growth
• Expensive

Did my Hair Fall Out after Stopping the Hair Prescriptions? 

Now, will my hair fall back out after stopping the prescription? That's something I was wondering.

After using the hair pills for 90 days, I took a 30-day break to see what happens.  

I'm happy my hair didn't start falling back out, and I had little to no shedding. Since I got my health back on track, my hair remained intact. Your hair may start shedding again if you have an underlying health issue, so I advise getting checked by a doctor.

Is Musely's Prescription Hair Products Worth a Try?

Overall, I had a great experience using Musely's The Hair Pill and saw success in filling in lost hair. However, after trying The Hair Solution, I experienced a terrible headache. As a result, I'm unsure whether the treatment is effective.
