Embracing My 'Soft Girl' Era: Celebrating 41 Years!

Hey Y'all!  Today is my 41st birthday!

This phase of my life is what I consider my "soft girl" era.  Things have slowed down a bit, allowing me to enjoy the things I like to do more instead of always doing for others.

Since I work for myself at home and my children are older, life is pretty laid-back and peaceful.

As I got older, I found myself enjoying simple things like going to cafes, Pilates classes, the gym, and trying new cuisines.  As Michelle's friends call me, "The Typical California Mom!"

I remember people telling me that in your 40s, things all go downhill, but I don't believe them.  Whatever life you create is what your older years will be.

Yes, years of unhealthy living will start to catch up to you when you age, but since I have been on my health and wellness journey for years now, I feel better than I did in my 30s.  The only difference is that my vision is not as good as it used to be.  I believe that by my next birthday, I will be wearing eyeglasses.

I know year 41 will be good for me.  My last child will be completing high school, and I'll have much more free time.  It'll be a time to start rediscovering myself from constantly being in mom mode and instead doing more for my needs.

Cheers to year 41!
