I can't believe Lauren is almost done with Esthetics school! Time is flying because it was like yesterday that she graduated high school!
I love that she has taken me along on her journey. I'm always at her school getting facials done by her, and I recently attended a big convention with her called The Skin Games.
About The Skin Games
The Skin Games is an event focused on the esthetics industry. It features competitions where estheticians showcase their skills in various categories, such as lash applications, facials, wax applications and other skincare treatments.
In addition to the competitions, the convention includes workshops, presentations, and networking opportunities for professionals in the esthetics field. It's a great place for esthetics students and seasoned professionals to learn, showcase their talent, and connect with others in the industry.
I was shocked I could attend since I'm neither an esthetics professional nor a student, but Lauren's school allowed me to purchase a student pass to participate with her.
This year's Skin Games was held at The Westin Hotel in Buckhead. The event lasted four days, and we attended three of them.
We picked up our badges on the first day and walked around the vendor hall.
We explored the latest products at the vendor hall, enjoyed live demonstrations, and discovered the beauty industry's offerings.
Lexli Skincare was also there, so meeting them in person was great! I have shared about their products many times here, and they have played a significant role in my skincare journey. Lexli offers a full range of professional skin care products formulated to nurture and improve skin. Definitely check them out!
The first day wasn't much going on besides visiting the vendor marketplace, so we returned the following two days to check out the competitions and attend workshops.
On the second and third days, we attended panels to learn the do's and don'ts of the business, watch current esthetic professionals pitch their ideas, Shark Tank-style, seek funding and/or mentorship for their current projects, try out products ourselves at the vendor hall, and, of course, check out the competition.
Although I may not be in the esthetics business, I am a consumer who visits my local medspa monthly. It is good to see the future in the skincare world and network with beauty professionals. I was able to discuss about my skincare concerns and get advice for improvement.
Lauren was able to get great advice from beauty professionals as well, like not jumping into the trend of get a salon suite before getting customers.
After attending this event, I am thrilled that Lauren chose this career path! Beauty has always been her passion, and she has her goals lined up and ready to pursue them.
The Skin Games was a wonderful event-filled weekend to helps beauty professionals elevate their careers!
The countdown begins until Lauren's completion of esthetics school in a few months!
